I don’t think they care about the interview score that happened at the end. I think the job is all test based. The higher you score at open house, the higher chances you’ll get moved forward to S and D.

If they didn’t care about the initial interview, they wouldn’t waste the time running them. Especially for conductor, pen and paper can assess logical reasoning and arithmetic speed but it can’t assess customer service skills which leaves it up to the subjective opinion of the interviewer.

Now much weight they give it, who knows?

The “older version” you’re referring to is actually the desktop version of the portal and the “newer version” is the mobile version of the portal which shows less information. Which is why it shows “submitted” for all positions. If you access the portal through your desktop you’ll be able to see a more in-depth status of your application. I’ve gotten the same versions on my phone as well. Usually it redirects me to the mobile version.

I also finally received a status update on my application. Turns out since I’m an internal candidate my records are taking a bit longer to come over from my agency. I’m not LIRR staff so process is a bit longer. Hoping I can make it to Sunday still 😭

My portal status says passed and passed prescreening. But I know how little that means. Maybe an email prod wouldn’t hurt.

I oversold myself during the interview and I still didn’t get picked. They did reach back to me after I tried getting in touch with them several times and said I didn’t score high enough. I don’t know the name of the person who interviewed me, but I find the whole mta hiring process to just be very awkward sometimes, especially since the interviewer also claimed I wasn’t a fit. I listed every single thing I could think of for conductor and engineer though. They should at least let us have a chance to take the SD exam since not everyone they picked will pass it.

They made their choice and they informed you. You can’t change their mind at this point.

It’s better not to dwell on it, you’ll make a much better impression at that MNR cleaner interview if you leave your disappointment behind.

Anyway, you’re confusing people in this thread because you were up for conductor not engineer. It’s not helping anyone in this thread.

I got one question: They asked me to go in on November 17th, on the form on the MTA's website it says you don't need a drivers license (I don't have one) but on the form they sent me it says that a drivers is needed. Do I need a drivers license to become a LIRR train operator?

Federal statute doesn’t require a license but if you do have one, you are required to provide that information for compliance as a LIRR locomotive engineer is federally certified.

Hey how are you? Wanted to know if you heard anything back regarding the s&d overview ?

Nothing. Just as confused as you are. I find it hard to believe that they’re picky enough that all 3 of us from 9/28 were rejected with no contact yet according to drenyce they had a 0% pass rate for the last S&D test.

Hey what’s up man. If you didn’t scroll up. The recent S&D that took place in September. No one passed. Not to be confused with the open house invitation

The open house  (9/28 Babylon) I went to and I’m sure Trains247 went to was after that S&D test occurred. So we’re presumably waiting for the next round of S&D

Hey what’s up everyone, new to the forum. I wanted to know, is there anyone in here that went to open house at the end of September ? And if so did you hear anything back about the s & d overview ? Thanks !

I went to the same one. I haven’t heard anything either.
