Sorry to hear that.
You have another chance to take the T/O exam coming up. Study hard and try to get as high up on the list as you can.I applied for the promotional exam that's postponed.

sick category bad not on sick control

I guess that's my only option now.

He got 1 in 3’d.
“4.7.1 (c):
Appointment or promotion from an established eligible list to a position in the competitive class shall be made by the selection of one of three persons certified by the commissioner of citywide administrative services or head of the certifying agency, as the case may be, as standing highest on such established list who are qualified and willing to accept such appointment or promotion. Where applicable, such selection shall be made as provided for in paragraph 4.4.12 of these rules.”
Essentially, transit chose one candidate out of three qualified candidates to offer the job to, and he was not that one.
Only transit can put him back onto the list at their discretion.Wow that’s crazy mind you I’m already a conductor for the last 7 years.

I got disqualified under this today.
2. You were considered and not selected for Appointment in accordance with Rule 4.7.1 (c),

Correct. They haven’t called or emailed anyone. I have to assume it’s because of the holiday. Maybe in January things will pick up.

Anyone know how long the drug test is good for. I don’t know if it’s two months or three. If it’s two, mine just expired last week. Haven’t heard a single world. Nobody hasn’t responded to any emails or calls.

Word to the wise ...
When you clear Medical Hold for anything they find not right (pressure, sugar ,apnea eyes, hearing) they dont forget.
Keep going to your doctor and get paperwork showing you good..
Especially if you are Scheduled for a "revisit"(every six months) that means they are checking to see if you are in compliance of whatever they found not right...
They are str restricting people you want to part of that meaning as a T/O you are just working in yards or switching Conductors you are working platform.
Yup

I don’t think so. I believe they look at the paper work your doctor has given you to hand in to clear the medical hold but I would always assume they will do the basic blood pressure check, urine and etc.

My last thing on the complaining stuff, this thread wasn’t started for that lol, it was to give information on the process of getting into transit and to track the process on which numbers were being called! I just had a student who literally just came back! So he was called, but because he wasn’t gonna get weekends off he left! Resigned. Then boom, he reinstated his name and came back. Lost 2 years on his seniority over nonsense smh lol, nothing to do with operating, equipment, just because he thought coming into a seniority based job he was gonna get weekends off!
7 years as a conductor and I still can’t get weekends off lol.

Yes we are a warm body and yes if i keel over on the clock someone will make my trip or they'll just ABD it.. I dont have to like it but i can accept it...
Yes if you eff up down here in CERTAIN departments they'll try to hold you under the fire...
Five years these days not likely maybe two years tops. Its not like how it was when I started in 2001 with those dinosaurs who just did not want to leave and I had to wait five years to just pick a crappy RDO Relief job but you know what? I HAD set days off and that mattered more than anything I was able to get somewhat of a life back.
You hearing how the job sucks mostly from eff ups who are prob always down in Labor relations anyway it was the same with me.. Some of the T/Os and C/Rs who always beefed about the place always was in Labor Relations, I started to see that and ignore those types...
They try to bring their misery to others dont let it bother ya just do what's best for you and let them stay in their corners miserable.
You couldn’t had said it any better. I been a conductor for about 7 years now. The moment I got down here, people were being negative telling me their experiences. I took it all with a grain of salt. Someone else’s experience with the job won’t be the same for everybody. This job is easy as long as you know your job.
Whenever I get a student I always tell them to remember what your job is. Remember what is your responsibility and know your rule book.

Yes you will hand in all documents first. Once all your documents are in good order then you’ll heave over to do your drug test.

The list was extended and when I went in October to do my 2nd drug test the superintendent said they have a class every month until April and even more after that. Plus I am currently a conductor and the union vp also confirmed it.

Good day everyone. I called in today and it said the list was terminated so if I was put back on the list does that mean they aren’t pulling off the list anymore? I thought it was extended to September 2024
Who did you call?

Im already a B/O, it happened while on duty.
on the NOE for 7604 it says any accidents may be a DQ also.I know for B/O they are more concerned about driving record because of the CDL and stuff but for train operator as long as you have a active drivers license, and don’t owe any tickets you should be fine.

I just applied to 4605, they state any accident is a disqualification. It’s a bummer because I had an accident where it’s not on my abstract and the damages were less than $1,000. I am gonna take my chances anyway but I’m sure they’re gonna tell me to get lost after taking the exam and going to 180 Livingston afterwards.
I didn’t see that in the paperwork out being disqualified if you had an accident. Plus if the accident isn’t on your driving abstract why put it on the application.

I’m list #62xx. Just received the confirmation email a few weeks ago that my name was reinstated to the list. I got called in June but was missing my ssn card and had to wait until a new one came in the mail. Does my list number go back to the top of the list. When should I be called ?
Yes it would.

I took my pre employment drug test October 17 and I’m currently waiting for medical appointment n final processing as anyone been called or emailed for final processing for the November TO class?
I went down on October 12 and, I haven’t heard anything yet. Hopefully they will call soon for the November class. A superintendent told a bunch of us that they have a class every month to March so it’s just a waiting game.

they usually are unless you get placed on medical hold
Oh, okay. When I was going through the process for Conductor I was placed on medical hold. My doctor cleared me. All I had to do was bring in proof. When I did I was sent over to final processing, and was given a start date. That was back in 2017 maybe they do things differently now.
