  1. It would appear as though the M-8's are making appearances on the Harlem & Hudson Lines trains so that the H&H's diesel sets can be used on the NHL during the service outage.

I think this is pretty smart of MNRR to have as many trains running on the NHL as they can.

  2.

I've looked at the interior pictureso f these cars. Are there places for the seat checks? I can't see any.
No one knows for sure, but I'm sure there will be. Unless the (MTA) wants to use a new system...
  3. They wouldn't move those all the way to the Hudson Line. The M8s are strictly testing on the New Haven Line. I don't think they have even been out of Connecticut or New Haven Line Territory.

They've been seen @ Croton-Harmon resting. They test 3rd rail on the Hudson Line.

  4. Hey.weren`t they testing that on the New Haven Branch?I sworn I seen some (NJT) trains running through stamford last year.
You probably did see some (NJT) trains. NJT and MNCR ran trains to Secaucus and then on to the Meadowlands.

I went to New Haven on Saturday and while I was there, I was able to see the new M8 trains. With the exception of that "eye" on the top of the front of the train, it looks great. The red and black together are hot. I really look forward to riding these trains when they go into passenger service.
You saw them in the yard, right?
  6.

I gotta get me another camera.I live near the Stamford station and maybe one day I might just spot them sitting at the station during testing.:)
Let's hope you're lucky. An article I read recently says that they plan to have 20+ cars in service by December, is this true?
  7.

Wait.So the are already stateside? Brake problems? So they aren`t piggybacking them here I guess. It would be cool to see them on flatbed cars.
From what I saw on the RR.net topic, it seems they're being towed.
