  1. Any current or former t/o's that absolutely hate(d) the job? Maybe a few pro's / con's from seasoned veterans. I took my DT, and if I get the final approval this will be my "fork in the road" when determining whether to accept or not. Just trying to get as much info as possible and this forum has been a huge help.

(bonus question) I know I saw this somewhere but I've done some searches and I can't find the answer.... What is top pay for a t/o and how long does it take to reach?

    Thanks all.

  2. Uh ohhh. I'm having trouble tracking down my birth cert and ss card and I have to report Wednesday am.!!!!!! Anyone have some insight as to what may happen in this situation? I'm going to dig through my file cabinet when I get home from work, worse case I can get a copy of birth cert mon or tues, but the ss card takes 10 days.

  3. 1st of all, wheewwww!!

2nd, I'm not saying this to be a smart ass, but why do they make you sign a release saying they will look at your credit report and use it when determining your eligibility then?

  4. Thanks. I want to et all my ducks in a row. I'm hoping for a letter before the en of the year. Mid 400's. Need my diploma, and work history too.

Side note, what's the uniform like? Is it Dickie type pants? Do they provide it? Do you get to ride all mass transit free of charge? Ie; LIRR, subway, busses, etc,,,,, last question. How do they break ties from the exam? I've heard everything from the day you registered, to last 5 of your SS #. I share my score w/ a lot of people. I was lucky enough to be towards the head of the pack.

    Thanks for the info.
