I tried to register on the site. I watched the video, and followed the link. The link wants me to LOG IN. I cant log in if I didnt register. This is so damn annoying.

 

In schoolcar they gave us a packet that was stapled together. the first page was labled , Accessing the External BSC Portal. Find it and follow the instructions in that packet.

Can Some one who is in schoolcar or a regular employee, help me out real quick?? I want to set up my direct deposit. Im looking all over TENS and I cant find the link to it. If anyone can help me thatd be awesome. Thanks!!

 

You need to Register on the Business Service Center website and thats where you would do that

I month in and i would have to say that school car has been an exciting experience. The information is coming fast and all of us seem to be picking it up nicely. Learning the wording on some signals has been tricky but im slowly getting it. I would say at this point i have about 95% of them memorized. We got to do road operations on an R68 and R142 and it was an awesome feeling being behind the controls. TSS Kenny Taylor really knows the subway system and had me operating like i was a 20 year vet. All in all we all seem to enjoy learning the in's and out's of RTO and are looking forward to this signals exam.

Hey Everyone......finally got my letter to come in tomorrow.....I wanted to post my info as well as inform everyone thats waiting what they all want to know......this forum has been very helpful and fun to read since pain-staking wait was underway since the test was take over three years ago, lol......here is my info.....

 

My list is #486

Received letter past Friday to go to Brooklyn for what reads like a hearing and possible vision test? No mention of drug test but after all i have read i will assume its happening tomorrow, 12/12/12....7:30 am in business casual attire. Was also told that i obviously wont make the december school car but can possibly make one in january as per the nice lady who picked up the phone when i called the number on the letter.

I could not find my social security card but requested a new one at the ss office....theyre everywhere.....its free and you just need to bring ur licence to get one. It will take two weeks but ask them for the form showing you requested it and you will be good for mta when you go. They told me not to worry about a hs diploma so i wont bring it....(i hope she was right as i couldnt find mine).

 

I hope all my info helps everyone. It always suprised me how everyone took steps in the process and never identified what list # they were.....probably the most important info for everyone else on here.....

 

I have a few questions for everyone if i may .....

 

Im assuming if you wear glasses that wont go against you? correct?

If i paid a ticket for smoking a cigarette on a subway about 25-27 years ago do i have to check yes on question #2 ?

if i do check yes....what do i need to do if i dont remember the details?

does anyone know right now what is the highest list # that made it to the last school car scheduled which is next week?

is it 40 pwer school car class? if so and im guessing apporximately 250-275 was the last # called for this schoolcar......whats the best guess on when my list #486 will get in? Just trying to schedule my life that will be turned upside down now, lol.

And finally.......what can i expect as far as a schedule for schoolcar? evenings? weekends? rotating times?

Get that HS Diploma ! If you don't bring it with you on the first visit, you'll absolutley need at the return trip for medical and final processing. I know cause it happened to me. When I went in for the drug test I didn't have it , I said I graduated over 30 years ago. They told me that I need to have it when I come back . I went right to my old HS and ordered a new one and I received it before I was called for medical .

Got ss card and drivers license is that enough?

 

No, you need 2 forms of ID, birth cert. or passport is good

Will they accept another form of id?

 

A Passport is also good

This must be new because I had pending traffic violations and they never asked me that when I was there for C/R. What does this have to do with you being train operator? this is a non driving job. Unless you gave them reason to look into it, or you put it down somewhere.

 

The problem is, They don't want you missing time for court appearances. If you don't tell them you have any pending and they come up while in school car, you will be terminated !

I went in for medical and final processing on Friday , 11/30/2012 . I'm happy to report that I will be starting my new career on Monday 12/17/2012 . A great XMAS present !!! GL to all on the O/C list 8098.

hey guys , help me out . I was at work today when I got the call it was tough to hear the girl on the phone . I was thinking I have to go to 180 livingston , but is it 130 livingston for the medical and final processing ? I'm going in on Fri. 7:30 AM. Thanks

List # 27_, at 2:19 today I got the call. ! I'm pumped , hope its for the Dec. 17th class. GL to all those waiting , Its been a long one , but it feels good now !

The 799 you saw is from the conductors open competitive list. They have only called up two about the mid 300's on the train operator open competitive list... MTA is currently hiring from a couple lists right now for different jobs.

 

After these 3 planned classes for T/O it will depend on how many more (retirements, resignations or terminations) are needed. Remember not all 120 hired by December will complete school car. If 20 people don't make it pass school car they will have to hire 20 more by spring in addition to other planned classes to make up for that loss.

 

They have not gotten into the 300's, I'm in the high 200's and have not received a letter yet
