  1. You would need to somehow dig a new tunnel from the local track of the (6) to connect to the old local track of the original line north/westbound (now Track 4 on the shuttle) and the same southbound from the (1) from 50th to connect to what is Track 1 on the shuttle, plus obviously lengthen the Grand Central and Times Square Stations on what currently is the shuttle. It would be an engineering nightmare to say the least.

Hence, why I said to never mind the difficulty.

  2. Revival of the old IRT double local that ran on Lexington south of 42nd St and Broadway north of it.

    8 local train.

Would alleviate local crowding on both the (1) and (6). Never mind the difficulty in organizing such a line.

  3. Here's a (T) that's supremely extended on both sides.

This alignment will serve Brooklyn crosstown, Red Hook, 2nd Ave, and 3rd Ave in the Bronx.

    Starting from the Brooklyn side:

    Canarsie (L)

    Remsen Ave/Foster Ave

    Ralph Ave/Foster Ave

    Kings Hwy/Foster Ave

    Albany Ave/Ave H

    Nostrand Ave (2)(5)

    Ocean Ave (:((Q)

    Coney Island Ave

    McDonald Ave (F)

    17th Ave

New Utrecht Ave (D)(N) (connects to N for express service)

    Fort Hamilton Pkwy

    8th Ave

    59th St (D)(R)

36th St (splits to prepare to turn into Red Hook)

    20th St/5th Ave

    14th St/3rd Ave

    Clinton St/Lorraine St

    Richards St/Wolcott St

    Delavan St/Van Brunt St

    President St/Columbus St

    Atlantic Ave/Columbus St

    Clark St/Hicks St (2)(3)

    Seaport

    Chatham Sq

    Grand St (:P(D)

    Houston St (F)

    14th St (L)

    23rd St

    34th St

    42nd St (4)(5)(6)(7)(S)

    55th St (E)(M)

    72nd St (Q) interlining to 116th

    79th St

    86th St

    96th St

    103rd St

    110th St

    116th St (Q)

    125th St

    138th St (6)

    149th St (2)(5)

    163rd St

    Claremont Pkwy

    Tremont Ave

    182nd St

Fordham Rd (line moves to Webster Ave)

    Bedford Park Blvd

    205th St (D)

    Gun Hill Rd

  4. Add 96th Street for the (A)(D) along Central Park West. I think that's equidistant between 59 and 125th Streets.

This isn't possible with the current track layout. The uptown and downtown lines are stacked along the park. There's no way to get the (A) or (D) to stop at 96th.

In other news, my infill stations:

    Avenue T (:P(Q)

    Neptune Ave (B)(Q)

    3rd St (N)(R)

    7th Ave South (C)(E)

    Tillary St (F)

    Atlantic Ave (F)

  5. Sorry for the bump but I had to post it.

14th St (S). To serve the E Village. Color Gray.

    1. 8th Av

    2. 6th Av

    3. Union Sq

    Skips 3rd Av

    4. 1st Av

    Turns off (L) Tracks

    5. Ave B

    Turns on Ave B

    6. 6th St

    7. Houston St

For a shuttle on Ave B, you could keep it tighter for better stops. After 14th and B, how about

    10th St

    7th St

    4th St

    Houston St

  6. i wouldnt create a whole new entire route, but i would do some minor changes:

    Blue (M):

Blue (M) runs from Metropolitan Av to Washington Hts-168 St via 8 Av/CPW Local daily.

    Stops are:

between Metropolitan Av and Essex St, then:

    Broadway-Lafayette

    West 4 St-8 Av

    14 St-8 Av

    23 St-8 Av

    34 St-Penn Station

    42 St-PABT-Times Sq

    50 St-8 Av

    59 St-Columbus Circle

then all former (C) stops to/from 168 St.

Late Night Blue (M) remains unchanged.

    Orange (C):

Orange (C) runs from Euclid Av to Forest Hills via Fulton St/6 Av/53 St/Qns Blvd Local, daily.

    Stops are:

between Euclid Av and West 4 St, then:

    14 St-6 Av

    23 St-6 Av

    34 St-Herald Sq

    42 St-Bryant Pk

    47-50 Sts/Rockefeller Center

    5 Av-53 St

    Lex Av-53 St

    Queens Plaza

    36 St

then all former (M) stops to and from Forest Hills.

Late Night orange (C) remains unchanged.

    I understand the routing...but why?

  7. (H) 2nd Avenue-Utica Avenue Express

    Bronx

    Throggs Neck-Harding Av

    Sampson Av

    Randall Av

    Balcom Av

    Castle Hill Av

    Boynton Av

    Hunts Point Av

    Prospect Av

    Third Avenue-163 Street

    East 156th Street

    Third Avenue-149 Street Transfer to (2), (5)

    Third Avenue-138 Street Transfer to (6), <6>

    Manhattan

    116th Street

    U.N-42nd Street

    Houston Street Transfer to (F)

    Avenue C-Houston Street

    Brooklyn

    South 4th Street

    Myrtle Avenue-Broadway Transfer to (J),(M),(Z)

Fulton Street- Utica Avenue Transfer to (A), (C)

Eastern Parkway-Utica Avenue Transfer to (3),(4)

    Kings Plaza-Flatbush Avenue

    Queens

    B169 St - Fort Tilden

B147 St - Jacob Riis Park

    B135 St

    B125 St

    Merge with Rockaway Park (S)

    B116 St

    B105 St

    B98 St

    B90 St

    Merge with Far Rockaway (A)

    B67 St

    B60 St

    B44 St

    B36 St

    Mott Avenue-Far Rockaway

Those are some mighty fast jaunts through Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Also, I know it's sort of beating a dead horse, but Rockaways/Breezy Point riders don't really need service past Beach 116th St.

Also also, your four Manhattan stops are pretty confusing. E 116th St, 42nd St, either Broadway-Lafayette or LES-2 Av, then West Houston and Av C? Some local service is cool too.

  8. Two ideas.

    1. The (8), running local from Brooklyn Bridge to 125th St, then running with the (5), express from 149 St - Grand Concourse to East 180th St and then to Nereid Av from there, allowing the (5) to consistently run to Eastchester. Runs 5 AM - 10 PM weekdays only. Runs R142s.

    2. Hudson St - 9th Av - Columbus Av Local to 125th St at Park Av. White (9) bullet, runs R142As and R188s.

    Stops/Transfers:

    Chambers St (A)(C)(E)(2)(3)
