  1. Tried my best to keep up with them on the way to coney island yard.

Here's the R211 making its first movements on NYCT property:

Got ahead of them at Fort Hamilton Parkway on the (D)

Rushed ahead under the el towards bay 50 st and made it just in time

While they were snaking their way though the yard, I rushed around the facility down Mcdonald Avenue to the small service road running along side coney island yard and got the 211 there

  2. Heheeee... the buffs going crazy over this.

FWIW there are plenty of changes as compared to a 160, or even a 188, mostly inside the cabs. But not posting any pics, mostly cuz I'm lazy.

    Correct:

-speedometer and air gauge locations swapped

-new style buttons on the communcations panel and radio consoles

    -R188 style "ergonomic" controller

    -new style cab door latches

-only one air vent on the offside of the cab

    -new style conductor's emergency brake

-several operational components in the cab have been moved around and the buttons and switches on the console have been moved around.

    -new style cab seat

-much more visible "door fault lights" next to each individual door panel inside the car. Probably the biggest difference in the passenger area.

    -new truck design

-new resistor grid design (for dynamic braking)

-new brake package design (for friction braking)

If you guessed these, you win...absolutely nothing! Carry on with the great debate.

Here is the cab for anyone interested: (Although i made this for the Openbve simulator, this is what it looks like IRL)

Compare it to the 160 cab and you can see the new PA on the left , new TOD and some buttons got shifted around and the CBTC select box on the right got integrated into the TOD dash

  3. Do you really need to keep encouraging these idiots to do this shit????

I'm not, i think the person is a moron as i wrote that in the description. This is the type of shit that give other fans a bad name. Another (R) train pulled up directly after this left and the Train Operator was notified. I was just filming the train leaving and the idiot on the back was a coincidence.

  4. i get what your saying looking at the track map, according to the video they removed the relay terminal bro,  is chambers really becoming that decript?!

They've been doing this for the last couple of months. The relay is track (and switch) is still there on the middle track, but it's just faster to get trains out like this.

  5. Ugh, someone really needs to tell whoever have been programming these new NYCT routes with working timers that once an automatic clears to green, the next signal CAN NOT still be displaying red+lunar white!!!!! This happens on the A route between 168 and 145.

Also, if it's the A to Howard Beach, why the hell does the C/R play the "if you are going to JFK airport, you must change trains at Rockaway Blvd" message between Hoyt and Nostrand?

I'm not the developer for the A to JFK, but i was the one who put the updated signaling on the A to lefferts and updated stuff through out the line. It probably plays that Announcement between hoyt and nostrand because someone probably just copy pasted the route i updated from 207 to rockaway blvd, and then coded the rest to jfk.

On the signaling, there's currently no way for me to install it so they properly clear. If i make it so the first signal is a yellow - the following is a red, when the yellow turns green - the red turns yellow, the animation will clear at any speed and people will just ignore the timers. The other hold back is that i can't seem to make the timers trip people if they go through a timed red.

I will try and come up with a solution to this though.

  6. I was in Queens last night and got caught in that 21 St-Queensbridge mess. There was supposedly a bus to arrive there that takes many passengers to QBP but it never showed up. So me and a few angry passengers walked over to QBP to get to the (7) for access to the (F) train. The shuttle bus was at Queens Boulevard when we arrived but I chose to take the train (doesn't matter, I have an unlimited card) I just wanted to get to Union Turnpike faster.

Things I've learned, there is a program on both E and F trains to Roosevelt Avenue from Jamaica Center/179 St respectively via express, however there is none for local. So E train conductors made manual announcements.

I was caught in the exact same mess two days ago. The crowding and the 20+ minute wait to relay at Roosevelt ave was a mess. I also noticed there is a (F) local program to Roosevelt ave, but for some reason there is none for the (E)

  7. when is this happening so I could cancel my travel plan and record this with some shots

It was happening yesterday, they were racing my (2) train from Gun hill to Burke ave, then sped off infront of us. When we arrived at E180, they were pulling into E180 yard.

  8. If anyone's interested, There's a 6 car R188 Consist running up and down the (2) line on the express track. There's also the remainder 5 cars at E180 yard and a 11 car train at Unionport yard sitting next to the R28-R36 work train. Would be a nice video if someone caught it running down the express track on the (2)

  9. What if you are transferring from a Downtown (N) or (R)

you would have to go up the stairs to where the turnstiles are and look at the LED board which shows which platform the next train is leaving. Alternatively, stay on to 42 street and wait for the train there. From my experience of taking the Q everyday, two times a day, if you are going somewhere in Manhattan (Southbound-towards Brooklyn) and are already on the local, stay on the local.

  10. Flatbush Ave on the (2) / (5)

    Brighton Beach on the (B)

Flatbush has a sign to alert people, I honestly don't remember about Brighton Beach which is sad as I used that station for Four years lol

Brighton beach and 57 street both have signs that show from what track the next train is departing. They are located in the lobby's by the turnstiles and not the station platform.
