Ex-LIRR big files ax suit

The Long Island Rail Road's former top lawyer has filed a lawsuit against MTA boss Elliot Sander, alleging she was fired in a round of political housecleaning after Gov. Spitzer was elected.

 

Former General Counsel Mary Jennings Mahon claims Sander admitted he didn't even know Mahon, but canned her anyway.

 

"It's just politics," Sander told a top administrator, according to the complaint filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, which also names other transit chiefs.
