Question about the R160 Front signage

The front sign requires somewhere around 1/125th of a second to fully refresh. Lets say you take two photos of an R160 front...one with a shutter speed of 1/60th of a second; another at a shutter speed of 1/500th of a second. Since 1/500th of a second is shorter than 1/125th of a second, you will only capture part of the displays refresh (if you even capture any at all). However, seeing as 1/60th of a second is longer than 1/125th of a second, you will be able to capture an entire refresh of the sign.

It has to do with shutter speeds on the camera.

Thanks guys so is the sign really spinning?

If you were to watch the sign with a camera that had an extremely high frame rate, it might appear as if the circle is "spinning". However, to the human eye, it is persistent.

Oh ok. Its kinda like when someone films a computer screen. Thanks:)
