Pakenhamtrain Posted December 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2010 From the Herald Sun Too much tinsel on Ventura bus * Katie Bice * From: Herald Sun * December 08, 2010 12:00AM A BUS company has been forced to tone down the festive cheer because of safety concerns over Christmas decorations. Each year a Ventura bus is transformed into a travelling Christmas roadshow. The interior of the bus is decked out with tinsel, wreaths, Santa characters, fake snow, Christmas stockings, baubles and even a fake tree. But this year there will be a little less of everything. A safety inspection found some decorations were covering emergency exits and access to fire extinguishers. Ventura managing director Andrew Cornwall said the company would never ditch Christmas. "We wouldn't do that," he said. "We are going to continue the Christmas bus, but we are just going to make sure it is safe. "We did a safety inspection ... so as a consequence of that, we are just going to change the decorations." Mr Cornwall said the idea for a Christmas bus originally came from a driver. Transport Workers Union spokesman John Halloran said safety was an important consideration but he hoped the company didn't take the issue too far. "It sounds a bit scungy if it's for the enjoyment of passengers," he said. "As long as it doesn't get in the way." http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/too-much-tinsel-on-ventura-bus/story-e6frf7kx-1225967279466 I have seen this bus in previous years and it did look a bit cluttered inside.
