The cars with the awkward looking resistor grid banks are the ones that have the new propulsion. Who made them?

SubwayGuy Posted March 8, 2011 Share #29 Posted March 8, 2011 I thought they were out of business. Westinghouse is, but the legacy of the same company has become part of Adtranz through a bunch of boring corporate maneuverings, hence Westinghouse/Adtranz
R68 Subway Car Posted March 8, 2011 Author Share #30 Posted March 8, 2011 i just found out that Adtranz is now a part of Bombardier, so they are the ones making the E-Cams.
SubwayGuy Posted March 9, 2011 Share #31 Posted March 9, 2011 i just found out that Adtranz is now a part of Bombardier, so they are the ones making the E-Cams. Yes, but that's a technicality. Adtranz is still a recognized name within the industry and it is common practice to use (sometimes old) names where they are recognized and profitable, even after the company has been bought up. Some of us just prefer to go back to the Westinghouse days back when things were still made in this country (see my signature) /shameless self promotion For instance, while Exxon bought Mobil you still see the name Mobil on lots of petroleum products in the automotive industry. Same goes for Bank of America which still uses the Merrill Lynch markings on all of its brokerage materials following BoA's acquisition of same.
