Trainspotter 0 Posted May 22, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 22, 2008 Another rail-y bad idea from transit bigs In times past, a crook who fled into the tunnel with the cops in pursuit could count on them coming right after him despite the danger of being electrocuted or hit by a train. The cops would simply seek out one of the police-blue lights spaced every couple of hundred feet in every tunnel and push down on a switch to immediately cut off power. A slightly slower procedure called for a police supervisor to notify the transit operations center. The juice would be off a moment later.
