Phase II To Begin Saturday, August 4th

Bus Replacement Service Reservoir to Fenway

Winding down with Phase I of the D Branch Rehabilitation Project, the MBTA is pleased to announce the significant completion of work between Riverside and Reservoir stations. Over the past 5 weeks, approximately 10,000 ties have been installed with 6000 ties remaining for installation in Phase II. Work in progress includes tree and brush cutting, signal and power upgrades, cleaning and improving ditches and drainage, and surfacing and aligning the track. The project also includes clean up of the line and station improvements. Phase II, to begin Saturday, August 4th, will complete this critical work allowing the MBTA to maintain long-term, safe and reliable Green Line service. The project will also allow the MBTA to introduce easy-to-board, low-floor Green Line vehicles in early 2008. Track work will be performed between the hours of 7 A.M. and dusk – Monday through Friday.
