Take the MTA LIRR to Balloon & Music Fest 2007, August 10-1

 

The MTA Long Island Rail Road will sweep you off your feet with its special package ticket to the First Annual Metro New York Balloon & Music Festival. The Festival, at Brookhaven Calabro Airport, Friday, August 10 through Sunday, August 12, features more than fifty hot air balloons, a Monster Truck Rally, aerial stunt planes and on the concert stage Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo.

 

The LIRR special non-escorted package, $35 for adults and $25 for children 5-11, includes discounted round-trip rail fare, shuttle bus ride to the site and event general admission. Balloon rides, carnival rides and games, food and reserved concert seating are additional costs.

 

Getting to the Balloon & Music Fest is easy, take an LIRR Montauk Branch train to the Mastic-Shirley Station. Stops have been added to trains at Mastic Shirley Station for the Festival as follows:

 

Eastbound (Saturday and Sunday)

3:59 AM train from Penn Station

7:54 AM train from Jamaica

10:16 AM train from Jamaica

12:28 PM from Babylon

3:24 PM from Babylon

5:34 PM from Babylon

 

Westbound

11:31 PM from Mastic-Shirley to Jamaica (Friday only)

11:33 PM from Mastic-Shirley to Jamaica (Saturday only)

4:25 PM from Mastic-Shirley to Babylon (Saturday and Sunday)

8:12 PM from Mastic-Shirley to Jamaica (Saturday and Sunday)

 

Shuttle buses will meet all trains for the short ride to Brookhaven Calabro Airport. Coolers, beverages and food are not permitted on the festival grounds for safety reasons. Food concessions will be available.
