Pakenhamtrain Posted May 4, 2013 #1 Posted May 4, 2013 G'day all.Wandered into town and out to Williams Landing on the 28th and snapped a few pics. K153 sits in Platform 8B on the rear end of the Steamrail shuttle to Williamstown The displays on Platform 7 and 8. Showing the next departure and following 5 departures and 3 arrivals on the platforms. At the other end of the train is D3 639. Although D3 639 isn't the real one. In 1956 the real 639 was withdrawn as Commissioners engine in 1956. They selected the next best example of a D3 locomotive at the time. Both locomotives were sent to Nth Ballarat where parts(such as chrome fittings) from 639 were transferred to 658. The renumbering was due to the Commissioners being fond of 639 and the long service it gave. Here it stands tall in the VR Commissioners livery. The builders plate on D3 639 D3 639 steams through South Kensington. K153 on the rear end. Nearing journeys end is N461 with the up Warnmbool train. The 5 car set is made up of two cars of one set and 3 of another due to the BTN and BZN cars being out of service. Passing by on the Main Suburban is a Comeng bound for Sunbury. Departing Melbourne's newest station is Comeng 400M. Williams Landing opened for the first time on the 28th. Serving the growing Western Suburbs. Arriving on Platform 1 is Comeng 655M Showing off it's new PTV livery is Westrans 131( Volvo B7RLE/Volgren "CR228L")
