Pakenhamtrain Posted April 25, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2014 I was up in Sydney last week visiting a friend and got to take a few photos along the way. The Passenger displays at Lidcombe that feature at all but some major stations. These show the next train and stopping pattern and the following two trains. In this case the next train isn't stopping at Lidcombe. Looking Westbound at Lidcombe. Above is the guards indicators for the signal at the end of the platform. While one guards indicator points towards the camera all trains travel towards the camera. A short while later V15 flies through with DIM8063 trailing. In the other direction A51 departs Lidcombe with a Blacktown train. Passing though Lidcombe with a Blue Mountains train is NSW Trainlink's H8 and another H set. Tangara T60 In the past couple of Months the M sets have had thier seats replaced with the same fabric used on the A sets. The IDI's on the M sets. M13 on the rear of a Glenfield via Strathfield service. Arriving into Central is Variotram 2102 with a L1 Dulwich Hill service. The extension to Dulwich Hill has only been open for a few weeks. Of note is the new LED desto fitted to the Variotrams. As a result of the tram extention new trams were needed. As a result for the quick need for the trams the NSW Government leased 4 Urbos 2 trams from Spain. Here 2109 is at the Central terminus. An untargeted 8 car S set with C3048 on the rear departs Circular Quay with a T3 service to Lidcombe via Bankstown. M9 is the rear 4 cars of a T2 line service to Homebush at Town Hall. Running though the City H48 nears the end of it's run at Town Hall. http://i.imgur.com/62cmhQa.jpg The Concourse indicators at Town Hall. Departing Platform 6 at Town Hall is M30 and another M set. Only just begining the 40KM journey up the Northern Beaches is State transits 1734(Volvo B12BLEA Euro 3/Custom Coaches CB60) with an L90 Limited stops service to Palm Beach. Showing off it's advertising for the light rail extention is Variotram 2101. Passing by the Garden Island naval base(HMAS Kuttabul) is the Collaroy. Departing Circular Quay is A61 with a T2 line service to Homebush. Tram 2101 at the new terminus. Dulwich Hill. Tram 2107 arrives at Dulwich Hill. As seem from the station at Dulwich Hill. The Extension from Lilyfield to Dulwich hill was build over the old freight line it connected with the Metropolitan freight line at Dulwich Hill. A21 departs Dulwich Hill with a Liverpool service. Here we see SM 171B standard 5 aspect automatic signal used on the vast majority of the Sydney trains network showing the signal states from Red to Green. Red over Red: Stop Green over Red: Caution Green over Yellow: Medium Green over Green: Clear. Closer to the city an additional aspect is used between R/R and G/R which is R/R/G which means low speed. If a signal displays low speed the trip stop will remain up unless the train is doing less than 25km/h. Another signal aspect is Green over flashing yellow which is Preliminary medium.Other aspects commonly seen are(And only seen on home signals)Yellow over Yellow: Medium turnout Yellow over Red: Caution turnout.
