Amtrak track repair delay trains between Newark, New York

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Rail commuters are facing delays between Newark and New York City.

 

NJ Transit says Amtrak had to repair a defect in the tracks in Kearny. Only one track was open until the problem was fixed by 7:02 a.m.

 

However, NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel says the are delays of 30 to 45 minutes between Newark and New York City on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line.
