LI Bus Transfer clarification

Hey everyone,

 

I'm a bit unclear on the LI Bus transfer rules and how it interacts with NYCT.

 

I have a pay-per-use metrocard as a baseline. I understand (I think) that I could get two free transfers within LI Buses with a metrocard, but what if I'm coming from the subway or an NYCT bus? Is there any transfer rights there, or do I get charged anew for LI Bus?

 

Typically NYCT only allows one transfer, I believe, might I get one LI Bus transfer free from the subway but not a second?

 

To help with an example scenario, lets say I take the E train to Jamaica, and then want to take 2 LI Buses to my destination, how much would that cost?
