MTA - Specification development for purchase of a new fleet to operate only in LIRR non-electrified territory to link diesel stations with the terminus of electric service, allowing customers to transfer to an electric train for service to points west.

 

If everything goes according to plan, The MTA will go ahead with a purchase, which is now set for 2013.

I wish the Gallery Cars would run in NYC. Of course they would have to be modified to serve high platforms.
