No way, the R44 needs replacement more than anything else in the fleet at this point. What else might they put on SIR? The R211S has different signaling, and the cars are already ordered.

Put the R211S on SIR and replacement will not be a concern for over 40 years.

i agree they are falling apart and need replacement

Southbound (5) suspended in the Bronx.

There is very limited southbound (2) service from the Bronx to Manhattan.

Southbound (4)(5) trains are running locally in Brooklyn.

The R46s and R68/As are acceptable to this because, yes, the curves are unsafe if you're walking between cars in motion. I'm thinking the storm doors can be automated on and off when the train is not in motion and can be opened in the operator cab as to having a switch that says "open linked doors". That's just a thought in-case of an unexpected emergency.

i remember reading somewhere that was a planned feature to have doors auto lock when turning but it would cost too much.

  7. Part Suspended

    (H) trains are not running between Beach 90 St and Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St in both directions.

There is no M train service between Delancey St-Essex St and Forest Hills.
