Put the R211S on SIR and replacement will not be a concern for over 40 years.

Bus Detour for No. 81 in Jersey City - Sunday, April 23, 2023
On Sunday, April 23, from 4AM to 4PM, Ocean Avenue, Grand Street, and Christopher Columbus Drive will be closed between Bramhall Avenue and Exhange Place due to the Jersey City Marathon. During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 81 in Jersey City will operate on a detour as follows:
Buses traveling toward Exchange Place will travel from Ocean and Bramhall avenues, make a left on Bramhall Avenue, right on Bergen Avenue, right on Montgomery Street, left on Summit Avenue, left on Sip Avenue, right at Journal Square (lane C), and then continue the regular route.
Buses traveling toward Bayonne will travel from Journal Square, make a left on Pavonia Avenue, left on Bergen Avenue, left on Bramhall Avenue, right on Ocean Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
Note: Bus stops may be lost during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully, and allow for extra travel time.

Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Service Adjustments for Jersey City Marathon – Sunday, April 23, 2023
The Jersey City Marathon and Half Marathon will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023, in Jersey City. The route of the marathon will require modified service on Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) from 6AM until approximately 2PM as follows:
Service will NOT operate between Liberty State Park (LSP) and Jersey Avenue stations, and between Harborside and Harsimus Cove stations.
Trains WILL operate between 8th Street and LSP stations:
Northbound departures every 20 minutes from 8th Street at :09, :29, :49
Southbound departures every 20 minutes from LSP at :07, :27, :47
Trains WILL operate between West Side Avenue and Liberty State Park stations:
Northbound departures every 20 minutes from West Side Avenue at :08, :28, :48
Southbound departures every 20 minutes from LSP at :02, :22, :42
Trains WILL operate between Tonnelle Avenue and Harsimus Cove stations:
Northbound departures every 30 minutes from Harsimus Cove at :07, :37
Southbound departures every 30 minutes from Tonnelle Avenue at :02, :32
Trains WILL operate between Harsimus Cove and Hoboken stations:
Northbound departures every 30 minutes from Harsimus Cove at :19, :49
Southbound departures every 30 minutes from Hoboken at :05, :35
Shuttle trains WILL operate between Jersey Avenue, Marin Boulevard, Essex Street, Exchange Place, and Harborside Stations (shuttles will operate on load & go basis.
NOTE: No substitute busing will be available between Liberty State Park and Jersey Avenue stations, and between Harborside and Harsimus Cove stations except for ADA trips – all other customers must walk between these stations to resume their travel. Please allow for extra travel time, including walking to and from stations during the marathon.
Normal HBLR service is scheduled to resume at approximately 2PM, or when the New Jersey Transit Police Department determines it is safe to do so.

I'm thinking the storm doors can be automated on and off when the train is not in motion and can be opened in the operator cab as to having a switch that says "open linked doors". That's just a thought in-case of an unexpected emergency.
i remember reading somewhere that was a planned feature to have doors auto lock when turning but it would cost too much.

On Sunday, November 13, new NJ TRANSIT Rail schedules will take effect on all lines.
Customers are advised to carefully check Train Schedules and Printer-Friendly Timetables for specific updates to each line.
Please note the following changes on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Lines.
Northeast Corridor Line – Weekdays:
Current Train 3864 will be renumbered as 3862, departing Trenton at 4:41PM and continuing to arrive in New York at 6:09PM. This train will continue to operate non-stop from Rahway to Newark Airport stations.
Current Train 3866 will be renumbered as 3864 and will add a North Elizabeth stop, with minor time changes at Linden and Elizabeth stations.
Current Train 3898 will be renumbered as 3866 and add stops at New Brunswick, Edison, Metuchen, Metropark, Rahway, Linden, Elizabeth, and North Elizabeth stations. Train 3866 will depart Trenton at 5:27PM and arrive in New York at 6:56PM.
Northeast Corridor Line – Weekends:
Train 7669 will no longer operate. Customers traveling from New York to Secaucus, Newark Penn Station and Newark Airport can use Trains 7867 or 7269. Customers traveling to stations from North Elizabeth through Rahway should use Train 7269.
New Trains 7660 (7:46PM from Rahway, arriving to New York at 8:32PM) and 7665 (departing New York at 6:01PM, arriving to Rahway at 6:40PM) will now operate.
All 7600-series trains now make stops to and from Rahway in both directions.
Other trains have been adjusted to support NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak maintenance work on both the Northeast Corridor and the North Jersey Coast Line.
North Jersey Coast Line – Weekdays
Train 3266 will now depart Long Branch five minutes later (4:46PM) and no longer stop at North Elizabeth. It will continue to arrive to New York at 6:25PM. North Elizabeth customers traveling to New York should use new Train 3864 (6:05PM at North Elizabeth).
Train 3598 will now depart South Amboy 14 minutes earlier (5:47PM), add an Avenel stop but no longer stop at Linden, Elizabeth or North Elizabeth stations, arriving in New York at 6:44PM. Customers traveling to Newark and New York from Linden, Elizabeth and North Elizabeth can use new Train 3866. Customers traveling from North Jersey Coast Line stations to Linden, Elizabeth, and North Elizabeth can transfer to Train 3866 at Rahway.
North Jersey Coast Line – Weekends:
All 7600-series trains now make stops to and from Rahway in both directions.
Other trains have been adjusted to support NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak maintenance work on both the Northeast Corridor and the North Jersey Coast Line.

On Sunday, October 16 from 8AM to 2PM, Broad Street will be closed between Mulberry and Washington streets for the Newark Breast Cancer Walk. During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 62 in Newark will operate on a detour as follows:
Buses traveling toward Newark Airport/Elizabeth will travel from Raymond Boulevard and McCarter Highway, make a right on McCarter Highway, bear right onto the ramp for Lombardy Street, continue straight to Broad Street, make a right on Broad Street, left on Lackawanna Avenue, left on University Avenue, right on Clinton Avenue, left on Astor Street, right on Broad Street, and then continue the regular route.
Buses traveling toward Newark Penn Station will travel from Routes 1&9 and McCarter Highway, continue on McCarter Highway, make a right on Raymond Boulevard, and then continue the regular route.

Uptown trips will take an additional two minutes while traveling north of W 4 St-Wash Sq some and trains will not run
May 15 - Jun 30, Monday to Friday
There will be one less train during the morning rush hour, two fewer trains and one less train during the evening rush hour.
You may experience longer wait times, additional crowding and delays.
Reminder: trains do not run, and trains do not operate in midtown Manhattan overnight or on weekends.
