1. To me, I'd rather see the swap permanent until the 222 R32s and 50 R42s retire. It allows them to go out in the open on the (A) or (J) / (Z). And I agree with Art that the summer doesn't end until September 21. Not even that but it's mainly heat which is why the R32 (C) / R46 (A) occurred. The (C) should stay R46s because the R32s' A/C needs to function out on the Rockaway / Liberty Avenue Lines on the (A).

  2. Where did I say that he said they were going someplace else?

Maybe its you that needs to re-read posts

Okay I was wrong on that one, but you said a Train Worker here said that those R32s were going someplace else besides ENY. So you need to re-read the post and fine prove. :P

    Anyways, back to topic...

  3. STILL waiting for somebody to say what TA Workers said they was going someplace else besides ENY...

    Agreed.

Fresh Pond, RTOMan never said that the R32s were going some place else. Re-read his posts in this entire thread as well as other transit workers' posts. <_<

  4. Next:

Due to Fastrack the (1), (2), and (3) are closed between Columbus Circle and Chambers Street. Remember, you can't reroute IRT trains on BRT or IND lines. Reroute away!!!

    (2) trains are rerouted via the Lexington Avenue Line between Grand Concourse and Nevins Street.

No sure about the (1) and (3) though because that would consider a service suspensions on those two lines.

    (1) trains run in two sections:

    1. Between 242 and 96 Streets

    2. Between Chambers Street and South Ferry.

    (3) trains run in two sections:

    1. Between 148 and 96 Streets

    2. Between Chambers Street and New Lots Avenue.

I highly doubt the (3) would end at the Lexington Avenue Line though or it'd be suspended completely except between 148 and 96 Streets.

  5. As NX Express said, this is a public forum, which your standards don't always apply to. We as members don't always get to decide who deserves respect and who doesn't.

That's 100% correct.. :( Reading this just makes me want to once again apologies for my level in the past threads, especially to you TTS.

    Going back to topic now.

  6. He's not thinking about the "people". That's my point...You know, Threxx, there's a certain level of respect that people should be given on the forums whether they seem to deserve it or not. Dare I said it, if you kept that in mind, you'd get into fewer arguments here...[/background]

True, I'd go along with that.

  7. Stop! This thread is for unplanned service disruptions! The mods don't have to do everything. People can help out!

Did you even read my above post?... <_< I'd said "My mistake....I'll create a new thread for disruptions, about that..."

Carry on while I'm finally out....

  8. This thread is about rerouting trains for unplanned disruptions. And the point of having threads is staying on topic - or we might as well just have one big chat and post whatever we want there.

I'm 15 and I don't need an 11 year old telling me want to do. I didn't know it was all about rerouting trains for unplanned disruptions and nothing else. My mistake...I'll create a thread about disruptions then, about that...

  9. @ RollOverMyHead Why are you posting so much stuff? This isn't what this thread is for.....

    Whatever!

I thought it was about service disruptions and weekend disruptions as well. I don't have to listen to anything you say, you are no damn moderator! I'm moving on....

  10. (F) Coney Island-bound trains run express from Bergen Street (Lower Level) to Kings Highway

    (D) Bronx-bound trains run via the (A) local from West 4th Street to 145th Street.

    (R) trains in both directions run via the (F) between 36 Street, Queens and 57 Street-7 Avenue

    (Q) No trains between 57 and 42 Streets

    (A) and (C) Uptown trains run express from Canal to 145 Streets.

  11. The Chrysler Building is nowhere near 2 Av.

@Rollover the (T) will be almost pointless as a Manhattan shuttle. It needs to go to the outer boroughs, preferably the Bronx, but more realistically Brooklyn.

The (T) will sure be extended to the Bronx and Brooklyn in the faraway future. We'll just wait and see. :)

  12. The entire Second Avenue Subway will be served by the (T) between 125th Street and Hanover Square. The (T) is joined by the (Q) between 125th and 72nd Streets. There's no need to change any service patterns and routes, especially since its better that riders needs to stick to the way the subway system is.

  13. Weekend Planned Work:

    (1) No trains between Times Sq-42 St and South Ferry. Trains run express, stopping at 96, 72, and 42 Sts.

    (2) and (3) trains run local between 96 and Chambers St

    (4) and (5) trains run local between 125 St and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall

    (6) No trains between 59 St and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. Trains run express stopping at 125, 86, and 59 Sts.

    (A) trains run express between 145 and Canal St all weekend & between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Euclid Av, Brooklyn during daytime hours (late nights, all local stops in Brooklyn)

    (C) No trains running.

    (E) trains run local between 71st Avenue and Queens Plaza

    (D) trains operate in two sections:

Transfer at Broadway-Lafayette St to continue your trip.

    (F) trains operate in two sections:

    1. Between Jamaica-179 St and Euclid Av, local between 71st Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge and via the (C) between Jay St-MetroTech and Euclid Av. Late night service ends at Jay St-Metro Tech and relay at the Bergen St lower level platform.

    2. Between 18 Avenue and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

    (G) No trains between Bedford-Nostrand Av and Church Av.

    (N) trains run local between Canal and 59 Sts

    (Q) trains run local between 57 and Canal Sts, then via the (R) between Canal St and DeKalb Av.

    (R) No trains running.

  14. IND 53rd Street & Eighth Avenue Lines (A)(C)(E) FASTRACK

    (E) is rerouted to the (F) between 36 St, Queens and 2 Avenue.

    (B)(C)(M) trains end early.

  15. IND 63rd Street & Sixth Avenue Lines (B)(D)(F)(M) FASTRACK

    (D) operates in two sections:

    1. Between Norwood-205 St and World Trade Center, via the (C) between 145 St and Spring St and via the (E) between Canal St and World Trade Center.

    2. Between Whitehall St and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, via the (R) between Whitehall St and 36 St, Brooklyn.

    (F) is rerouted to the (E) between Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av and 50 Street and via the (A) between 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal and Jay St-MetroTech

(D)(E) on local tracks and (A)(F) on express tracks along the 8 Avenue Line.

    (A) runs express all night between 145 St and Canal St

    (B)(C)(M) trains end early.

  16. I agree with all this, except why not just end (R) service early and go through all that trouble with the reroute?

Well because the IND Sixth Avenue and BMT Broadway Lines are quite closer in Midtown Manhattan and same goes for the IRT Lexington Avenue Line. Check Google map. :)

The (D)(F), rerouted (R), as well as the (4)(6) trains, will be the best alternative for Broadway customers. ;)

  17. BMT Broadway Line (N)(Q)(R) (FASTRACK)

No trains at (N)(Q)(R) stations between Queensboro Plaza and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center

    (N) No trains between Queensboro Plaza and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center

    (Q) No trains between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Prospect Park

    (R) No trains between 36th Street, Queens and DeKalb Avenue

    (N) trains operate in two sections:

    1. Between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza

    2. Between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, making express stops at Atlantic Av-Barclays Center, 36, and 59 Sts.

Shuttle buses run to/from (Q) stations at Atlantic Av, 7 Av, and Prospect Park.

    (R) trains in both directions are rerouted to the 63rd Street and Sixth Avenue Lines. (R) service operates all night.

    1. Via the (F) between 36 St, Queens and West 4 Street.

    2. Via the (D) between West 4 Street and DeKalb Avenue.

  18. Back to topic as R160s on the R has nothing to do with the title of this thread.

I can't understand why there are only 140 out of the 222 in service on the A. Only two sets of R32s could be used for work service while 220 out of the 222 can operate on the A. There are enough R32s to run on the A alongside the 176 R46. Why does East New York Yard even bother to give 20 cars of R42s to Pitkin Yard for the A?.... ._. This is just my opinion.
