1. Yes you pick a terminal close to where you live and can pick it up there after 3pm on the Thursday of your pay period (every 2 weeks).

A little something of note, they tell you to get your first check before you put in for direct deposit on the bsc portal (they will explain this at orientation) which I did and by my 3rd check direct deposit was working. One of my classmates applied for it the day after orientation and his direct deposit was working by his 2nd check.

Got it. Thanks, for the heads up.
  2. First couple checks you will have to go pick up at your pay location that you chose??? A terminal or 180 Livingston Street??

Direct deposit is not right away. During the fist week of schoolcar, people from hr will come and speak to your class and they can answer all those questions. First couple checks you will have to go pick up at your pay location that you choose.

I got called back for medical about a month after i took my dt....that was one of the longest waiting periods i had!! The length of time varies person to person.

As far as the background check, i do believe no news is good news! I make 6 months in a couple weeks and havent heard anything from them and im hoping it stays that way! It would be nice if they sent something saying you've been cleared

  3. I just got my work history printout from the SS office and now I have another concern...smh

On the pre-employment application that I submitted on the day of my drug test, I filled out the 10 year work history section and I thought it was accurate but upon looking at my printout from the Social Security office I'm realizing that the some of the dates that are put down are close but not 100 percent accurate. I'm concerned that this might be an issue.

For the 21 page packet I now have all the information I need to make sure that my work history is 100 percent accurate but what should I do about the discrepancies on my pre-employment application? Is there a department that I should call to correct the discrepancies on my pre-employment app? Am I ok as long as everything on my 21 page packet is accurate?

I'm not sure what I should do...

Question: How did you get your social security printout in a couple days? It usually takes 4 months...

  4. Anyone who went down for the pre-employment screening process, PLEASE answer this important ques. Did they ask for at anytime, 3 persons of character??? Like 3 people you have to put down but can't be relatives. They must verify you are a good person, blah blah blah etc.

  5. Buddy, you are going to get called I don't know why you are worried. It won't be this year. Perhaps the end of 2014. This list will expire on Sept. 19, 2016. So it has plenty of life left. People in the 3,000's will most likely make it too. Remember with Motorman retiring and being promoted mainly there will always be availability.

  6. Hello forum. My list # is in the 2200's, I have been stalking the forum off and on for years. I have found it to be very informative.

I was disappointed with my list # because I thought I did better. I pretty much gave up any hope. However from perusing the posts in the forum, I figured that I might have a slim chance with rapid pace of hiring and mass retirements. I read previous postings stating the last eligible reached on the previous exam #2085 was list 2064. I know the previous list has no bearing on the current one but its nice to know they were in my ballpark. I have read some post stating that they may go deep in this list. Ok so what do you think forum, am I toast?

  7. Today marks the beginning of March 25 school car for those who made it. Congratulations!!! Now what everyone wants to know is the dates for April, May, and June upcoming school car classes. Once, they have that in the works. That list is going to fly by a couple more hundred numbers easy.

  8. Greetings, to all. I know from speaking personally to a TSS a few weeks ago. There will be classes all YEAR LONG. Can anyone please find out the upcoming dates for April, May, and June classes. Thank u.... That's how the list #'s will move faster. More classes more hires.

  9. I hear you. But from what I heard from another TSS that I spoke to down the subway a couple weeks ago. Was that there will be classes all year around, "EVERY MONTH". Due to tons of retiring and being promoted. So I guess in a few weeks they will know the dates for upcoming school car classes for the months of April, May, and June.

  10. The next school car class is on March 25. As for April, May, and June I don't know yet. But I do know from speaking to a TSS a few weeks ago in the subway. Is that there will be classes "ALL YEAR LONG". Meaning that the list will be climbing even further. At this rate it should reach in the 1000's for the drug test by June. My question is from what I heard they charge you a $75.00 fee when they take your fingerprints. What other fees are charged for pre-employment-screening???

  11. Attention, ladies and gentlemen waiting to be called on the list. I just call DCAS and heard the automated system. The last list number appointed was 582. This list is moving in record time so far. Those that are in the 1000's, 2,000's, and even 3,000's be patient you will be called.

  12. An EKG or an electrocardiogram is a test that measures heart activity, mostly to check the electrical impulses of your heart. The test itself is usually under 3 minutes. Now waiting around for the doctors to call you and then waiting for them to hook up a bunch of leads all over you and possibly calibrating the machines and then waiting around for the results could take a bit of time that likely varies by patient. It doesn't matter how long it takes, just schedule to be off work for good that day or at least 5 hours.

    Thank u

They send a pre-employment app with the initial drug screen letter. That application only asks for 10 years. And the one you leave with (21 page app) asks for everything since H.S

Got it! Thank u 2 BX Girl.
