I think that FB Depot should let East NY Depot borrow some 2019 XD60's for the B82+ SBS for more space for passengers but at the same time, the B82+ SBS doesn't get enough ridership for them to receive some 2019 XD60's so maybe that's why they don't have some at this time yet but in the future they should consider doing some borrowing from FB Depot.

ENY can’t borrow any articulated buses from another depot if the 82 route has not been tested yet for Articulated buses. The union and Road operations have to come into agreements first before they can run articulated buses over there. Plans on papers show ENY will carry Articulated buses for the B15 and SBS82.

  2. On specific Holiday's the Zerega 19a Supt Safety and Trainer will be off. Although, it would be strange to have a class on  Thanksgiving week, but you will be off, and may have to return back for training that Friday or Saturday.

*The first week or two in January, Zerega 19a Supt will take a break from probies training and head out to depots across the system to train operators that picked into new depots during the system pick that needs certification training on certain bus the depot equipped with. Also "Seniors" operators will be training the snow fighter trucks. Just to clarify, If you picked into a depot that has express routes, they have to come train you to operate the coach bus. The goes for whatever other buses that depot carries that you may not have been certified trained on.

I really had it with the incompetence at "employment operations", how do they screen these people that work there. I believe you don't need a high school diploma to work there it seems. You can never get someone on the phone, and when someone actually picks up they want to transfer you to someone else.

I wonder if its always been like this or has it gotten worse since reopening from the pandemic. It's a shame, the only thing I can think of that is worse than this is the corrupt politicians raping the treasury and using our tax dollars as their own piggy bank and screwing the tax payer.

Keep in mind, 180 Livingston is a very busy location handling every employment process besides B/O. Sometimes it's best you just email and wait. If that doesn't work just show up over there. The staff over there are also overwhelm. The beginning of employment process sucks, but afterwards you won't have to deal with it when you're fully hired. Just think of 180 as another DMV hot mess.

@Flatbush Operator, my wife said it’s the real test. It’s basically all about pre trips, what to do in situations (leaving an old lady at a bus stop or being patient to pick her up).  THERE IS A MEMORY PORTION !

Okay, good to know. So it looks like things change. 8 years ago when I took the exam, TA was competitive comprehensive test and OA/MTABus were giving BOSS exam. So good to know things has change

  5. What a BOSS questionnaire looks like...

1.I am a very Tidy person.

If you really pay attention to the questions, It was already asked but formatted or rephrase differently. If your answer doesn't match or go against the opposite of what you answered before based on the question. That's how you fail. One question may be repeated multiple times, but rephrased or reworded differently.

**3. Police officers always gives out fines for no reason**

How positive are you …..today is MTA bus and next week is mabstoa

Only TA give you comprehensive competitor test. OA and MTA Bus only gives "Bus Operators Selective Survey". To pass that survey, your answer has to match multiple times. There's no wrong or right answers but.......Imagine you're being interviewed, how would you like to be viewed as an employee. "Hint: Make yourself look good"

Okay, how about the folks like me who got hired like two months ago, do we still have to be vaccinated too or we can still get weekly tested? I received a call and text message about this that we need to be vaccinated or claim a medical or religious exemption? I'm confused.

No, the vaccination mandate will only apply for anyone hired or in the process starting November 14. If you’re already hired before November 14 you will continue to follow the current procedures.

**Anyone who is currently not vaccinated, and you haven’t taken the employment test, or is nowhere near being called for employment should not stress themselves until the time comes.

    agree with you 100%

I wonder if the union can use some of these points for a legal fight in the courts for new hires that have their names on these lists already.

On the new NOE for city jobs that are up in the DCAS website, it says on the requirements to be hired you must be vaccinated unless the agency has approved an exemption for medical or religious reasons.

One question that I have been thinking about is, if your name is on a list for a NYCTA title, then it falls under DCAS which is city civil service.

The city is allowing candidates to request exemptions for medical or religious reasons, if they are approved depends on each individual agency.

MaBSTOA and MTA Bus Company are not DCAS so their not considered civil service.

Doesn't that make NYCTA a city agency and not a state agency like MTA ?

so if the MTA won't allow exemptions for new hires, wouldn't NYCTA have to allow exemptions for new hires since they are a city agency ?

The union has no say when it comes to how the MTA handles the hiring process. They only give their inputs once you’re on the job officially. That’s one of the reasons after you qualified  the 7-10 days training, you meet the union division afterward.

The NOE states information about the current position you’re applying for but can be subject to change.

The MTA is a state agency, not the city. Nypd, FDNY, Santitation, DOT is managed by the city.

No. The MTA is governed by the State/Federal.

Hey quick question! I was emailed to come in for the next step which is medical, and to have my finger prints etc. They even told me the date for the next class that they are considering me for. However I unfortunately wont be in town that day,:( Do you know if they normally just offer you another date to come in ? Or will it be a much longer wait now??

They can either tell you to report the next available date or have contacted them back when you're available.

How many days will you’ll be out?

Ok, I'm not sure how they're going to address this since we're already halfway through the process with the exam coming up. I know someone else who's taking this exam with me and hasn't been vax yet because of personal reasons, but I can tell this is going to be a problem for others that aren't vaccinated.

“New hires must be vaccinated” right now you’re still on the first process for examination. You have a long way to go before the hiring process start. Who knows, things can change a year from now where the mandate is lifted.

Do you think they will establish a list faster because of the need?

It all depends of the vacancy rate for a Bus operator position.

Are you serious? What's the union saying about this?

The State is ruling this decision. The MTA is managed under the Governor.

As of right now, The TWULocal100 is undergoing elections this upcoming November. If new administrations are elected, expect a fightback by the local.

**The only thing is, the union has no control over transit when it comes to the hiring process. This is why new hires have to undergo 1-year probation before they can fully be represented. We are limited to what we can do with the new hires.
