  1. Doesn't sound all that good really, hopefully the numbers will start to decrease soon.

Now, back to what the thread is for!

"Due to FDNY activity at Chambers St, the following service changes are in effect:

Both directions there is no 1.png train service between Rector St and 14 St.

Both directions 2.png trains are running on the 5.png line from Nevins St and 149 St-Grand Concourse.

Both directions there is no 3.png train service between Atlantic Av and 148 St

    Allow additional travel time."

"Due to signal problems at Court St, some northbound r.png trains are running on the n.png line from DeKalb Av to Canal St.

    Allow additional travel time."

  2. There's epic fail on FastTrack Map PDF.

It goes into Nov 2012 version of service between Grand Central and Brooklyn on Lex Av lines I think.

Quite right it does! Maybe it's just a placeholder while they draw up the proper version, certainly one way to confuse passengers though in the meantime!

  3. The investigation seems over according to the MTA site. Now:

Due to signal problems at Pelham Bay Pk, southbound (6) trains express from Pelham Bay Pk to Parkchester

It seemed to finish pretty much as soon as I posted it up! Are 12/9s in the subway a frequent occurrence? The rate of one-unders (as we call them in the UK) on the London Underground seems to average at about 1 a week

  4. "Due to a police investigation at 42 St-Bryant Pk:

Southbound f.png trains are via e.png line, 36 St (Qns) to W 4 St.

There is no southbound m.png train service from Forest Hills-71 Av to Chambers St.

Also, southbound b.png and d.png trains are bypassing 42 St-Bryant Pk.

    Allow additional travel time."

  5. New FASTRACK schedules have been put up as follows, including 2 new additions

March 25th - 29th:  (4)  (5)  (6) Lexington Avenue Local (Grand Central - 125th Street both directions, all trains will run express in this section)

    April 1st - 5th:  (J) Nassau Street (Essex Street - Broad Street)

    April 8th - 12th:  (B)  (D) Grand Concourse (161st Street-Yankee Stadium - 205th Street)

    April 15th - 19th:  (N)  (Q)  (R) Broadway (All Manhattan stations)

On the proper QBL FASTRACK, yes maybe not splitting the  (E), extending  (C) hours or running the  (Q) to Astoria, ending  (M)  (R) service so early etc is a bad idea, but this is the 1st time it's been done on the QBL section of line so it's really a learning curve for the MTA as the only real way they'll know how good or bad the effects on passengers will be is to try it and see, if it works out first time great, if not in some or all areas then they know to change things for next time! (although if it goes really bad there may not be a next time!) Only time will tell I suppose

  6. Gone ahead in time again...

    (F) Service operates in 2 sections:

    1. Between 179 St and Jay St-MetroTech, and via the A.png to/from Hoyt-Schermerhorn
    2. Between Stillwell Av and Bergen St, and via the G.png to/from Bedford-Nostrand Avs

Late Nights, 11:45 PM to 5 AM, Mon to Thu, Mar 25 - 28

    • Transfer at Hoyt-Schermerhorn to continue your trip.

Looking at maps, the way the Hoyt-Schermerhorn turn around may work (I think) seems to be to run the train up to Clinton-Washington Aves on the express  (A) track (seeing as that line is local through there at late-night), change ends, run it through a siding between the express tracks between Clinton-Washington Aves and Lafayette Ave and then rejoin the Manhattan-bound (A) express line into Hoyt-Schermerhorn, seems most logical, unless the MTA have other ideas, which given them they might!
  7. New videos uploaded from today on what is currently a very cold, windy and occasionally snowy day! Including a first for me in seeing a Network Rail stoneblower! Can be seen in the 3rd video! Hope you all enjoy these further insights into a small corner of the UK network!

  8. Afternoon all!

I thought I'd setup a base here for my Youtube transport videos, which will be updated on a fairly frequent basis! As you can probably gather by my location all of these will be from the UK! Namely the West Anglia Mainline which runs between London Liverpool Street station to Stansted Airport and Cambridge. All 'new' videos at the moment are being filmed from my local station of Stansted Mountfitchet but over time I hope to venture further out and capture more trains at different locations! The quality of my camera is a bit rubbish but hopefully it doesn't put anybody off watching!

Hope you all enjoy my shorts clips capturing the usual and odd raIl movements on one of the many lines out of London! Please view my main channel below to see the current selection and view the video below to see one of the more unusual movements expected this year through my local station!

  9. I may be wrong (I probably am wrong) but I think the MTA only releases details of FASTRACK reroutes and alternatives one week before the work begins, so on my logic details would be released next Monday, could easily be wrong but I'm reasonably sure that's how it's been advertised on the MTA website before now!

  10. Gone ahead in time a bit, this service change stood out more than the rest!

    (2) No trains between 3 Av-149 St and 135th St

shuttle_bus.png Free shuttle buses provide alternate service
    Weekend, 11:30 PM Fri to 5 AM Mon, Mar 22 - 25

    Service operates in two sections:
      1. Between 241 St and 3 Av-149 St
      2. Between the 148 St 3.png Station and Flatbush Av

(Trains skip 145 St 3.png in both directions)

Shuttle buses operate along three routes:
      1. Between 3 Av-149 St and 135 St
      2. Between 3 Av-149 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse
      3. Between 149 St-Grand Concourse and 135 St

Transfer between trains and buses at 3 Av-149 St and 135th St.

Only logical reason I can think of for this is work in the 149th St Tunnel,  (2) obviously skips 145 St due to the short platforms there

  11. Yes. They did the same thing for those weekend GOs.

Ah makes sense, knowledge of the subway a bit rusty! Speaking of unplanned service changes...

Due to signal problems at Prince St, northbound n.png trains are running on the r.png line from Canal St to Atlantic Av.

    Allow additional travel time.

Guessing if it's northbound disruption then Canal St and Atlantic Av should be the other way around!

  12. Due to a train with mechanical problems at Ditmas Av, northbound f.png trains are running express from Avenue X to Jay St-MetroTech.

    Allow additional travel time.

Assuming that's the case then they're running through the lower level at Bergen St correct?

EDIT: Some southbound  (F) trains are turning at Church Avenue as well now
