  1. That's awesome! I went down to 180 this week to clear my medical hold for T/O. I was told by the HR desk that June 24th is filled (which I already knew.) I was also informed, by the woman who oversees T/O hiring, that there will be a July class. They just don't know the date yet. I cleared my hold, and hopefully I'll get into the July class. To anyone who's gone for "processing": What is that like? TA wouldn't reveal many details, except that it's an all-day affair. What exactly happens? You sit with an investigator, painstakingly reviewing the 21-page booklet; stuff like that? Curious to know what I'll be in for. Thanks!
  2. Yes. If you are the lowest list-number in your class, you will have seniority above the rest of your class. This is from my father; retired TSS. I take that as valid, unless something has changed in the last few years.
  3. I take a legally-prescibed medication that is "prohibited in public safety-sensitive" job titles. I am ceasing this medication as per the MTA doctor's orders. I plan to return to the MTA-MAC as soon as possible in order to be cleared. I want the job, so I have to comply with their policy.
  4. I suspect that we are still awaiting announcement of additional classes beyond the June 24th class. I would LOVE to know how many motormen have been appointed, versus how many the TA needs to hire. My list number is in the high hundreds range and I should have been in the June 24 class. I'm going to have the hold cleared in about two weeks time. I heard something, somewhere, about schoolcar classes being scheduled on a quarterly basis. If that's the case, and the TA fiscal year follows a standard calendar year, then an announcement for the next class should be coming soon? :::Positive Thinking:::
  5. Thanks for your feedback. I hope that I'm finally clear all of this. It could take a month or so. I hear #'s in the thousands being called-- hopefully the TA values list #'s enough to push me through when the time comes.
  6. Thanks for the feedback guys. I could use any and all advice at this point! I think I will see my doctor and discuss my options. If the TA prohibits this particular med, I imagine nothing short of a (successful) legal action would make them budge, correct? It seems pretty cut-and-dry. I wish I had the option of taking a "motor skills" test to prove to them that my reaction-time and perceptual abilities are unaffected by my medication. I know Motorman can be a demanding and stressful position, that carries with it great responsibility. My doctor and I believe that I am ready for it. But if the medication is the sticking point-- I guess I don't have too many options. My other big concern is that of being "left behind" in the hiring process. Suppose I decide to eliminate the medication. That in itself could take a month to taper-off of. I know they've been hiring off this OC list at a steady pace since late 2012/early 2013. I don't want to come back in mid-late June and find out the books are closed!
  7. I went in this week for medical/final processing. I breezed through all of the medical exams with flying colors. Everything was going great!
