  1. Hey congrats gotti109. I told u bro that u could do it. RTS training is when they take all of the people that made it on day 7 and everyone test drives the RTS for like 15to20 minutes. Then u wait for the ones that make it on day 10 to hop on the RTS and take there turns driving it. So by next week you'll be going back to zerega for GI (General Information) day and that's where the union comes and talks to the class and some health insurance people as well. The end of that day you get to pick your depots for your line training. Congrats once again bud!

  2. @gotti109: I personally take the q44 cause I live right over the bridge. But like RTS4Life said only in the streets r u allowed to park. You gonna get ur bus pass tomorrow and the location to where u report for ur 7 to 10 days training u never know it could be at zerega.. Good Luck once again on the rest of ur journey. Breathe and like the ROCK says FOCUS... LOL!

  3. Congrats!!!!! You finally in.... How did it go.... Was it a fast test..... I also wanted to know if you get your bus pass the first day of the 7day training

Thank you! It went pretty well. The DMV examiner made me skip a lot of steps cause each one of us gets 45 minutes to get tested. You get the bus pass at the end of day 1 of orientation. Then day 2 you report to the depot they tell u to and be there b4 ur report time. Take that book with u and read it from cover to cover. Lol

@Flowerpower: Thank you! I'm an official MTA B/O now girl!

  4. Hey people I'm finally an official MTA employee cause I passed my DMV road test today. THANK GOD! Now I just gotta keep my nose clean for a year and I'll be good. I'd like to thank everyone on this forum especially the veteran B/O's that shared there knowledge with me and others that are looking to become city B/O's. Thank you!!!

  5. @RTS4life: Thank You!

@gotti109: Lol I know right. There communications r no good at all between depots.

@Flowerpower: That is strange cause they told us that each one of us will get a pre road test regardless if u qualified on day 7/9/10. What's funny is they said the same thing about the simulator and we only used that room to get fitted for our uniforms. Lol.

  6. oh wow good luck with your road test.... You working in Staten island right.... Is it a lot of traffic on your route

Thanks for the luck wishes. I'm getting my line training in Casey Stengel in Flushing Queens. All of the operators there are very nice and very informative about the job. I hope I get to stay there and not transfer or sent any where after my graduation. I'm very blessed to be where I'am right now and humble as well. Thank GOD!
  7. My 3rd day of line training was pretty interesting cause I had not 1 but 2 W/chair passengers on an Orion. The 1st was going east bound and the 2nd was going west bound. Remember the Orion W/chair system is just like the RTS from the back door. I wish I had the hybrid but it was very easy to do cause my training kicked in right away and my B/O was very helpful as well. Thank GOD. Tomorrow I go to zerega for pre road test and Thursday is my day with the DMV for the road test which I'm pretty ready for.

  8. I'm training this Monday, and I wanted to know if we have to buy the tie too? I got my dark blue and light blue button down shirt already.

Also are these acceptable footwear http://www.redwingshoes.com/red-wing-shoe/6691-red-wing-shoes/6691-red-wing-mens-athletic-black

Yes u do have to buy the tie too. I got a black tie at TJ Max for like $10 bucks. Those shoes will do just fine.Remember this is ur daily outfit everyday starting from orientation till u graduate and get ur badge and W/C key.
  9. Not yet, as far as I know. According to the October 2013 employment news (http://www.mta.info/nyct/hr/pdf/employnws.pdf), all candidates should receive an admission letter in the mail by December 4th, so I am assuming that around Thanksgiving we should be getting them in the mail, which will contain all of the information we need.

Cool, thanks for ur reply Young! I'm just starting with the MTA as B/O so I'm just asking for my brother to keep em in touch with what's going on and giving him the info on how long it might take. I'm just letting em know to keep his job until the ball starts rolling for him. It took me nearly 5 yrs to get where I am and I'm very happy and humble about it. Thank GOD!

  10. Well I was wrong about today cause it was GI which is (general information day). I did say that today was graduation day but found out it was not. They told us that graduation is after we r done with line training and then we'll be on our own. We got our picks today and I gotta say I got what I wanted which was Queens but not the depot I wanted. They told 14 of us to report to Queens Village. I don't mind cause at least I'm in my borough and so is the 4 other people that signed the Queens transfer paper in day 1 orientation. Thank GOD! So the ball is starting to roll a lil quickly now and I'm well prepared. I'm still studying for my DMV road exam and keeping my memory fresh with the pre trip and my ALSAPS (brake tests).
