Do the trains not have Selective Door Operation so the rear doors do not open at certain stations or?

The reason they didn't put R160's on the A was due to power issues right? I'm assuming these new trains must consume less energy?

What do you guys prefer? R160 Alstrom or R142A/R143/R188 MITRAC? Just a question

Interesting the r188's are only 50/51 feet per car

on Youtube there is a video of the R188 7822-7832 in service but can't see the numbers to verify

Just see that video at 2:17 you can just make out the 7822, and then at end you can see 7832

I'm surprised they didnt use the same FINDs as the R160's but then I suppose they didn't need to as they are 7 exclusive however the r160's are interoperable between lines

I loved the NYC subway when I was there in July. Just always thought it was a bit odd some lines have multiple fleets. Most subways(afaik), including London Underground only has 1 per line except when the old fleets are being replaced and don't swap them between lines, I suppose it's just how the NYC subway is maintained and built?
