  1. Hey guys I have one more question regarding a question on the 21 page booklet.

One question ask if you ever resigned because either you were forced to or quit because you thought you were going to get fired.  I was in a situation like this years ago with a company. Should I just leave it a yes or leave a yes and fully explain myself in the area marked "reason for leaving"  Currently I wrote just "resigned" in the reason for leaving area and a "yes" to that question.  I am paranoid now from some of the responses that I read. Some say just write what they ask, no more, no less and some say lay it all out on the 21 page booklet so you have no worries sleeping at night because you were honest and forthcoming to every little detail ?

  2. Congraduates my brother!!! What day next week? N did u get this in da mail or via??

Hi Trainman, thanks brother for your words.  I have to go in Tues. I pray I get through medical with no holdups. I know I don't have any medical problems, don't drink or smoke or do anything but you never know whats going to happen.  I got a phone call just like how everyone stated in this thread.  I hope everyone gets called and passes medical so we can see each other on Dec 16th.  Thanks again.

  3.

Congrats Tommy John, happy to hear you got the call. My list number is in the 1660's just wondering where you are at exactly 1620's 1630's lol. Only reason being is that im supposed to go visit my parents in Atlanta for Christmas but wont buy tickets if i can get the call for December 16. Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated. Congrats once again

Just got called for medical. I have to go in early next week. My list # is low 1600s. They want to fill up the Dec 16th class. Anyone with list # 1600/1700s good chance you will be called and be in Dec 16th class. I hope everything goes well with my medical AND yours. Best of luck to all and god willing see you on Dec 16th.

Hi, thanks man. I am in low 1620s.  They told me they call 40 at a time for medical.  If 1614 was the last appointed person according to the DCAS recording I would speculate there is a high probability you will be called.  Your right there ! Since this is a holiday week not sure if tomorrow is a full working day or if they work on Friday. Obviously, Thurs its closed because of Thanksgiving.  Plus I am sure they wont reach 40 "live" people in a row and have to skip some because they couldn't get in contact. I'm just speculating here..

  5. Last I spoke to Mrs. shivers, she told me the October & November classes had a lot of people who got off medical hold and were reinstated. So it slowed the movement of the list a bit. I went thru the same waiting game for conductor and I waited 10 months from the initial drug test to get hired. Be patient. You weren't disqualified.

Thanks for the reply. I hope we all get through this and get into school car. Everyone of us.

You can be disqualified for any reason being deemed by the MTA pre-employment findings. But like I said before. They have to explain in writing why. Or it be discrimination. Now, my advice to you. Call Ms. Shivers @ 1-347-643-8218.

Thanks again Trainman, appreciate your time.

  6. DCAS does not have anything to do with the hiring process anymore. It's the MTA Employment Center. Btw, if u fail a drug test or are disqualified for any reason. They have to mail or give you something in writing stating why. Or they can be sued. And of course you can appeal the decision by getting representation. Meaning a lawyer from the newspaper The Chief. But trust me if you have no case they won't even take it. Then, you can represent yourself or just forget about it and move on.

Thanks Trainman. If you are disqualified for whatever reason is it after the medical and you hand in your 21 page packet or can it be before the medical ? Assuming you passed the D/T and are disqualified for something else...

  7. Finally some movement down the list. It was stuck on 1414 for a while. Anybody in training now hear anything about the need for T/O's. Tommy John asks a good question. Does DCAS just call you in for a DT and leave you waiting if they find something. How do they notify you if you fail. I can't imagine that all list numbers between 1414 -1614 have been hired. Anyone out there know anyone who unfortunately didn't make it.

If you look in the previous page a poster said they mail you a letter within a week after the D/T if you failed it.  Also, today I read the copy of the drug test paperwork that we all got after. If you read the back. "If laboratory confirms a non-negative for test results (drugs detected, substituted etc) you will be contacted at the telephone number you provided".  Though I am curious on OTHER possibilities of denial (ex: past employment doesn't equal 5 years working, you were fired from a previous job or whatever the reason just as an example) does MTA notify you on that as well or leave you sitting in the dark and you never hear from them again.

I'm still waiting tommy. I'm in the 1620 range. I took the drug test in September.

By the way, don't think too much about it. This is how the process is sometimes.... a waiting game. Give Mrs. Shivers a call if you need validation.

I hope your right PopsicleGirl. I tried to call Ms. Shivers, went to a full VM. Couldn't leave a message.  My list # is close to yours.

  8. Is anyone else here have list # in the 1600/1700 range and waiting for medical ?  If someone passes D/T but was denied for some other reason does MTA send you a letter stating why you were denied ?  I just want to know if MTA sends someone a letter no matter what the reason for a denial to let you know whats going on ? Thanks.

  9. Does anyone know if you do fail the D/T how soon after the test do you receive the letter ?  I took a pre workout supplement a few days before that might have some banned substances and I freaking read the label on that after the D/T and this has been on my mind ever since. I am paranoid as hell.. Any timetable on when people receive the failed letter ? Thanks. I hope we all get the job and all in the same school car.

  10. ^^ That guy who failed the d/t, either he was smoking 24/7 for years on end or he is mistaken how long he quit smoking. There is absolutely no way you can test positive for marijuana if he stopped "5 to 6" months ago.

Well Heres My Update On This....To My Surprise I received the letter for Train Operator Last friday...Went in this past wednesday to 180 and Took the D/T...Had no idea they were movin along this fast ...Cuaght me off guard if you catch my drift...So The lab technician told me if i recive a call within 48 hours of the test then Im f**ked lol...Well So far so Good!!! No Call as of yet and the 48 hour mark was this mornin at 11AM...keepin ma fingers crossed...as the days past...I kicked the habit about 3.5 weeks ago and been drinkin water and excercising and I feel great..So Just Hopin I get this Becuase This is Truly a game changer for my life...im doin security right now makin 16 bucks an hour...this is startin at 30...double what im gettin not mentionin overtime...I feel truly blessed to even be in this position and be considered...Hopin to hear from them soon with the news to come back for the medical and final processing...List number 2.017...Best of luck to all the future T/Os...I want the "A" division cuz im in LOVE with the 5 Train lol...

The lab tech never told me that I will receive a call if I failed. Strange how some people get told different things from others.

  11. I was at 180 for a d/t today. I was told that the last appointed list number was 1616. Makes me wonder why I was called in so early. My list number is in the low 2000's. I was told that a response could take up to 90 days.

Damn I am close to 1616.. If I am not called for medical by now does that mean I got looked over for this job, I am worried now?!  Who did you talk to over there about this list #1616?

  12. This all sounds like another FARCE to me. Why would they be in the early 2,000's already with the drug tests??? And they are calling people in the 1600's for a second drug test??? WHAT A JOKE!!!

Yeah I am not quite sure what is going on.  Someone from 180 Livingston told me the D/T is good for 90 days yet I read online someone else told somebody it is good for only 30 days.  When I call the automated # for dcas the automated machine says the last appointed TO is list #1414.

  13. My list # is in the 1,650's. I took the d/t twice already. It looks like we're just going to have to be patient a little while longer.

Damn.. it looks like we not going to make it for the Dec class ?  When was your 1st D/T and your 2nd D/T if you don't mind me asking ? Thanks.

  14. If u failed the drug test u would et a letter saying that u failed. When did u take the drug test?

I took the drug test on the 29th of Oct. Thanks for your reply.

That sounds a bit odd being that they are in the early 2,000's with the drug test already. Call the MTA Employment Center @ 1-347-643-8229/ Ms. Shivers @ 1-347-643-8218. And after you do, please post something on this forums. Good luck!!!

Thanks man. I talked to Ms Shivers about 2 weeks ago and last time we left off she said they were up to list 1550.  I asked her about medical and she said she has no time table on when I will be called.  It depends on how much need there are for TO at the time. She also mentioned they call 40 at a time for medical. I will try her again. Its hard to get through to her sometimes and her VM is full so I cant leave a message.  I will post here with any new info

  15. I hope someone can answer this for me. I am waiting for medical. IF for whatever reason I don't get accepted, does MTA send me a notice or notify me in any way that I was denied this job OR am I never going to hear back from them ?  My list # is low 1600s... Thanks for any help.

  16. Hey Guys just a quick question Ima shy guy bout urintaing in front of people..so do they literally watch you pee or do you at least get to turn around..especially if they  make you strip as someone on here said earlier! also when you get to the medical part do you have to tell them evry medication you may be on? Keeping my fingers crossed and appreciate the advice..see ya down below!!

No. Atleast not when I did it.  You go into a bathroom. You have to remove your coat, phone, bags and put it in a locker.
