  1. Hmm, what about the (R) train's R46s? Is that considered once in a while, because Wikipedia says that.

Yes, I'm aware that Wikipedia is not a reliable source.

And one other question. When the (T) goes to Hanover Square, I think I saw it on the map approaching it SW. To get to Brooklyn, you need to go East, so how is the (T) gonna go to Brooklyn right from there?

  2. Next, an electrical failure shuts down power at the 59th St-Lex Ave Station.

    trains affected (N)(Q)(R)(4)(5)(6)

    (N)  (Q) : Trains run in two sections between Coney Island and 57th Street, and between Queensboro Plaza and Astoria (One or the other)

    (R) : Trains runs via the (F) between 57th Street and 36th Street.

    (4) : Trains run in two sections between 86th Street and Woodlawn, and between Grand Central and Utica Avenue, via Local.

    (5) : Trains run only between Dyre Avenue and Times Square on the (2) line.

    (6) : Trains run only between Pelham Bay Park and 86th Street.

    <6> : Suspended.

All: Expect longer wait times and delays as train service will be reduced, and those trains that are trapped will be delayed.

  3. All they have to do is add more (R) train service. The riders from the flushing line don't transfer to the (E) - they transfer to the (R).  Yes the (E) is faster but the (R) is an easier transfer.

If you don't believe me see for yourself. R trains are loaded to the gills weekends when the 7 isn't running.

    Okay, but then I waited 30 minutes for my  (R) to come today. Ratio: 5  (N) to 6  (Q) to 1  (R) . I thought the MTA could've done better. -.-

  4. A water main breaks underground at the Court Sq/23rd St-Ely Ave Station and the station is impassible

    Lines affected (E)(G)(M)

    (7) is unaffected

    (E) : Runs in two sections between World Trade Center and Lex Av, and Queens Plaza and Jamaica Center.

    (G) : Runs between Nassau Ave. and Church Avenue.

    (M) : Runs between Metropolitian Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge.

    (F) : Alternative trains run via the  (E) to Lex Av, the last stop.

  5. I spotted R62As 2351-2355 on the (6) borrowed from the (1) and they already have (6)<6> strip maps so seams like theyll be on the (6) for a while...

I don't think they were borrowed from the  (1) , but rather the  (7) . The  (7) is recieving R188s, so all those extra R62s are going onto the  (6) . The R142s are converted into R188s for the  (7) . Plus, R62s have been running on the  (6) since they got the R188s, I think.

  6. Due to police investigation, 42 Street-Times Square (1)(2)(3)(7)<7>(N)(Q)(R)(S) is closed. 42-Port Authority (A)(C)(E) is not suspended. How would you reroute trains?

    (1) : No trains between 96th Street and Chambers Street.

    (2) : No trains between 96th Street and 14th Street.

    (3) : Service is suspended.  (4) trains are extended to New Lots Avenue.

Free shuttle buses run between 148th Street and 135th Street, and between 96th Street and Chambers Street making local stops.

    (7) : No trains between Grand Central and Times Square.

    (S) : Suspended.

Free shuttle buses run between Grand Central and Times Square stopping at 5th Avenue.

    (N) : No trains between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Court Street  (R) station.

    (Q) : No trains between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Court Street  (R) station.

    (R) : Trains run via the  (F) between 36th Street and West 4th Street, then to Manhattan Bridge.

Free shuttle buses run between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Whitehall Street making local stops.

It is really hard since you close down a complex with the most transfers in the city, and this is probably very money-consuming due to all the shuttle buses

  7. I think they can do more when the  (7) terminates at 74th Street-Broadway. They already increased  (E) train service, but now for some other things.  (Q) and  (R) trains should swap terminals, and the  (F) should run local, with the  (Q) replacing it. When the  (7) terminated at Queensboro Plaza and the  (Q) got extended to Astoria, it's so that Broadway riders can get to the  (7) via express. So if  (Q) trains are extended to Forest Hills, then Broadway express riders can transfer to the  (7) at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue.

  8. This is actually the main reason why I don't like the idea of having a free transfer between the Lex and SAS at 125-East Harlem. 125 should just be under 125 St and 2 Av instead, without a free transfer to/from the Lex, the M60 bus and Metro-North. Any (4), (5) and (6) riders coming from the Bronx who want Broadway should just continue transfering at either 59 or 14.

But then it probably might make less of a difference on crowding on the  (4)  (5)  (6) . If there was a transfer at 125th/Lex, then  (4)  (5)  (6) riders would transfer to the  (Q)  (T) , thus, relieving crowding on the Lex. Also, if the  (T) were to be extended to Bronx, it will most likely run on Third Avenue, and there'd be a connection to the  (2)  (5)  (6)  <6> and relieving crowding on the 7th Avenue line (maybe).

  9. Rumor: (N) & (Q) might be getting all the R-46 from the (F) & (R) to allow Jamaica Yard to be 100% R-160.

    Source: Gossip.

Dang, if they want to move the R160s, I suggest they go to the  (C) to replace the R32s until they replace the R46s, which is whenever the R211s shall come.

  10. It would be massively inconvenient for many riders hoping for express service. The R needs a supplement but this is not the answer.

Maybe you could run the M full route on weekends...

Yeah, I need the  (E)  (F) to go express on Sundays. Maybe put the  (G) train back in service past Court Square? And in my opinion, the  (R) line is a good line exept it needs more service. Make all trains run full route at all times exept when it is a shuttle. Either extend  (G) to Forest Hills, or maybe we can run the  (V) train whenever the  (R) is alone.

  11. Maybe an (8) train or (11) train (or both) accompany the 7 . They can go on Northern Blvd or Astoria Blvd. If ridership is low on the buses, then eliminate the Q66 up to Woodside, or eliminate Q19 completely. Or eliminate or limit the M34 service.

    Northern Blvd Line:

    -Flushing-Main Street (Connection to 7 )

    -Grand Central Parkway

    -106th Street

    -Junction Blvd

    -90th Street

    -82nd Street

    -Court Square

    -49th Avenue

    -11th Street

    -2nd Avenue/34th Street (Connection to T )

    -Lexington Avenue/34th Street (Maybe a connection to 6 )

    -5th Avenue/34th Street

    -7th Avenue/34th Street/Penn Station (Connection to 1 2 3 B D F M and new connection between them)

    -8th Avneue/34th Street (Connection to A C E )

With this, maybe we can sooth the crowds on the Q66 and Q19.

Feel free to correct me because I'm not too familiar.

  12. I actually love the R32's and as long as the RFW is still intact, I'll keep loving them, and wishing they ran on the (Q).

Why on the  (Q) ? It is okay on the  (C) because it is an old line, but the  (Q) is a good line and looks new. They don't deserve to get punished with R32s.

  13. If the R62As go on the (6), i can't imagine how the Lex riders will feel that there is no NTT on the Pelham Train.

RFW has nothing to do with providing service to the passengers. So where if it goes, it goes..

And you don't know where the R62As are going, its still too early.

It could go on the (6) but I'm wondering if the (6) riders wouldn't mind.

I hope they don't. Hope the  (MTA) decides to do something like the  (F) with both R160s and R46s.

The 4/5/6 already has ATS. Actually ATS is a problem within it self because when it screws up the whole Lex becomes a log jam. If they put R62As back on the (6) ATS will still work.

Reduced crowing on the Lex 4/5/6 is something you will never see as long as the Second Av Subway is never built.

About ATS, what is the difference between it and CBTC? Don't they both locate trains?
