Of course. Anytime it snows in Riverdale, Kingsbridge seems to get buses from various depots and puts them on the Bx7 and Bx10. The last time it snowed heavily, I took Metro-North on a weekend since I didn't know when an express bus would come. A Bx10 pulls up with Queens Village decals at 239th and Henry Hudson Parkway and I said screw this, I'm getting on.  I don't know why they need so many loans for anyway when they have those 2009 buses and then the ones from 2015.

All of those artics and they can't use them in the snow.  Pathetic.  I guess they need more buses for the Bx1 and Bx2.

I’d say that the MTA isn’t using resources properly.

Kingsbridge has quite a few Yukon loans for whatever reason.  I missed two express buses this morning and while waiting for the next one, I saw about two Bx10 buses pass and all of them were Yukon loans.

So wait...some were snow loans then? Plus, where did the OG come from (that were on the M100)?

  3. Here's a new idea- a what if thread.

It's basically saying what if... a new service had to happen, constuction, ect. And you get to answer with your ideas (or facts, if you want to)

    RULES:

    No Fantasy Lines.

    Limited Foaming.

    I'll start it off.

    What if....

the south side of the Manhattan Bridge get repairs done to it?

With the (cool.png(D)(F)(M), i don't know if 6 av can handle five lines...

What if there was a need that the situation of the 9/11 happen again onto the Freedom Tower? I listed the changes:

1: (1) line reroute via the (3) line from Chambers Street to New Lots Aveune.

2: (2) line all the time local.

3: (3) line is shuttle (148th Street to 135th Street).

4: (4) and (5) line skips Wall Street.

5: (A) and (E) line skip Chambers Street.

6: (C) line run between 168th Street and 59th Street.

7: (E) line reroute via the (C) between Canal Street and Elculd Aveune.

8: (M) line have split service (service is same) and the other terminal is Coney Island.

    9: (N) and (R) train service suspended.

    10: (J) line extended into 95th Street.

  4. No, you were right the first time. Had you written "aren't allowed", you would be saying the 32s are allowed inside the tunnel.

But you'll get toasty hot on underground tunnels. Once, a R32 (J) train have a train conductor which was toasty hot that had to go to the passengers part of the train.
  5. After a LONG holdoff, I finally decided to make my own Subway Signs thread. The only reason I did not want to create another Subway signs thread is because there are 5+ other threads, and last month there was an increase in threads/posts.

Anyway, Now that the signature image size has been changed, I thought this would be the perfect time to make my own thread.

Note that this is the "3rd Generation" of my signs.

Here are the current animated signs I make:                                                                                                R46 exterior LCD

    (for show): LBwayJct01-1.gif

I am currently working on 2 other projects, which are the R142 exterior & a fictional R179 sign.

In the future, I might start to do bus signs, but it stays pending now.

    btw, here are the 1st Generation & 2nd Generation LEDs:1st GenerationAFarRock1.gif2nd GenerationE-CI.gif

*NOTE: Please click on the signs to see better quality.

    So start requesting ASAP! wink.png

    I want a R142 interior sign saying:

    (2) Wakefield-241st Street

    (2) The Next Stop Is

    (2) Bowling Green

    (2) 12:00 AM

  6. R188 7857, can I have a old styled sign saying:

    _______________________________________________________________________________________

    Queens via (N) To Astoria-Ditmars (Q) To 96th Street-2nd Avenue (R) To Forest Hills-71st Avenue

Broadway Blvd all times. all times. AM/PM rush hour to all times except evenings. Other

    Express/ Astoria-Ditmars Blvd. times take (N) or (Q) to 34th St-

Local Herald Square and transfer for

    (D) to 7th Avenue and transfer

    for (E).

  7. But that still leaves the 27s and 30s so I know what I'm talking about. And that statement is untrue. Yes, the 32s and 38s were going through their GOH process around this time, but the remaining cars that weren't GOHed still had front destination rollsigns up until the 90s

When those were retired by the R68/R68A series?
  8. That does not surprise me in the slightest. I guess they wanted to be proactive in case the orange A proposal went through so all the trains would have proper signage. It's a shame they were thrown out. They could have at least sold them.

On the subject of unused signs, we move back to the R10s for this week's roll curtain.

    <image removed>

    Dated: 1968.12.10

    Intended for: R10 cars

As with the route sign created around the same time, this curtain was also printed but never used.

The R10s south destination signs will be posted soon, though not next week. Next week, we'll see something from the 68As.

    The rollsign is useless.

    Please don't quote the images.
