  1. Good morning everyone. I just got a call today for a employment screening on 1/13 at 180 Livingston st. Anyone else get the call?

Should i dress as if i was going to an interview? Whats the employment screening process like? Did you have to bring a copy of your resume as well?

For those of you that have already completed the training class in December how have things been? Have you been working steady hours like a permanent employee? Is there anymore clarification on the temporary title?

Hopefully i can find out more information for you guys when i go. Any updated information will be greatly appreciated.

Congrats! How many did you get wrong on your exam
  2. Will I wasn't talking about the ppl who took the test. I was referring to the MTA. Are right about that thought but even though I didn't take the 2008 exam I still had to wait years just to take it. I missed the last exam found out about it after the fact. So the longer they have to wait, the longer I have to wait lol. I'm going to be patient tho. Thanks again

  3. I realize I won't be called in 2 years. What I wanted to know was when people on 6601 start getting called. Also, how long is a list kept open? I was told 4 years, but is that what usually happens? If I get in on this list, whenever that may be, I will be happy.

yes its for 4yrs but it could be extended a few times as well
  4. 2 years? I was told at the protest session that the list came out in February when the old list finished. I thought they started hiring from 6601 as soon as next year?

when the old list finish they will NOT call from 6601. They will call from the promotional list first. Now as for them calling you 2yrs after the list is establish... Um sorry to say that's not going to happen. Maybe 4yrs right b4 the list ends or they might not even get to your list number. The only reason they are going so high in the current list, is because it was extended twice. I'm really not trying to be negative but more so realistic. We will see tho. I hope you are right because that will mean I will get call within the 1st year (wishful thinking). Lmao. And I got 3 wrong most likely it will probably take them 2 or even 3yrs to call me. We got to remember a lot more ppl took this exam then the last ones.
  5. Well i went to the protest session today and the 3 answers i got wrong, I infact did get wrong. Messed up on the train number on 1 question. i picked the answer that was worded correctly just had the train number different from what they gave. if you were goin to fast or didnt go over your answers correctly you will miss train #5565 and put #5655 and thats what happened to me on 1 question. The second question i missed one word out of the correct answer.  The third question i would of probably got wrong regardless cuz it was stupid. Nothing to protest here. Goodluck guys

what day and time did u take the exam and what questions did u get wrong
  6. Can we make an anonymous poll of users on the forum to find out when they took the test (date and AM or PM sessions) and which questions they received wrong for that particular session.  This way we can compare notes and see if many people had a particular question # marked as incorrect (as per the proposed answer key).  Maybe we could have a separate poll for each test date and AM/PM session...

    Is this possible?

I took my exam on 4/23/16 Am. Its a fact that one of the questions had two possible answers and they didn't put both. So for sure that need to be protested
  7. I got 100 but I'm still not excited cause so many people took it. I'm curious to see my list number. Gong rats to all that passed

boy bye! If I were you I'll be jumping for joy. You will be in the 1st few classes. Congrats! You did that now be thankful because you could be in my shoes with 3 wrong. I'm so jealous
  8. Wasn't the filing for train operators supposed to begin in June?

Just checked the mta website & it got cancelled.. Sucks...

Its not cancelled it has been postpone. Idk why but they really need to get it together. I have been waiting for that exam.
  9. Good luck, dac9050.

I think they recalculate correct answers after the protest session before creating an official list.

Would October be a realistic time for the official list to be released?

Then February or March 2017 to start processing people off that list?

The key issue is how many conductors they need, and whether they're going to need more than they have in the past.

Let's keep in mind exam 8094 has been extended until February 2017. Once 8094 is done they will move to the MTA promotional conductor exam first. With the promotional exam every person who took and passed it will get called. Even the ones with only 70%. Meaning our wait could be longer then we think. It will all depends on how long the promotional list is. 8094 shouldn't have been extended again. It was extended once or twice already. They should've just went straight to the promotional exam. I pray I'm wrong but we might be waiting over 2years before they start calling us.
  10. Has anyone ever protested a question? My sheet says to go to the Livingston location on a certain date between 10am and 12pm and they will give you a copy of the test to look at. Can anyone give me any details as to what it's like when you get there? Was there a long line of people? Should you show up early? Is two hours enough time to explain why you think your answer is "as good or better" than the answer they gave? Are you notified if you're successful or do you have to wait until they post the scores?

I'm obsessing over some of the questions (am I the only one?!?) and there might be several I want to protest. Can anyone who has actually protested a question talk about their experience?

I went to the Station Agent protest and it was only 4 of us. You get there, you walk into a class room. You will be asked what day and time you took the exam. The lady will give you that booklet with several sheets of paper. There's no discusssense You can't ask them any questions, well you can, but will be told they can't say. You have write down the question you are protesting, and explain why your answer make more logical sense. When I was done I asked the lady how long will it take for me to hear anything back about the protest. She had no idea. So I asked do they even let us know anything. She said " I dont know". So before I left I asked do they even change the answer if a lot of ppl protest the same question. She said " I dont know I just have to wait". So I'm not saying its not worth it, but It wasn't what I was expecting. For some reason I had it in my pretty Lil head that it will be more like an open discussion. It was more like write it down. I can't answer any of your questions... Now leave. She was very nice tho, just doing what she was told.
  11. Regarding the specific question everyone is referring to, it did seem to have 2 correct answers, but the booklet said in the front that if more than one answer is chosen, the answer will be counted as being wrong.

Right! You can't choose both only one of the two correct answers. For example the two correct answers was A and B. I picked B and you picked A. We both get it correct. I tooked the last Station Agent exam and one of the questions on the proposed answer key had A, B, C, and D. Meaning all the answers was correct. The only way anyone would get that question wrong is if they left it blank. MTA do that on most of their exams to rattle our brains. Those be the questions everyone get stuck on, because we can't for the life of use figure it out. We know that all possible answers seem correct. We spend the most time on it thinking we missing something. Stressing over it. Now for some ppl that can break them. Have them stressing, doubting, and second-guessing themselves for the rest of the exam.
  12. Glad I'm not crazy lol

That is a huge relief, I'm glad to hear that. So as long as you pick one of the two answers you will get the credit?

Good luck, I guess it is three months until we know how we did? I was stuck on that question for a while, thinking I misread it or something.

Yes as long as you picked one of the two you will get credit for it. I won't be surprise if theres a question on the test that had all the answers correct. They do that too.

Anyone know how long Conductor 8094 list has been active and how far into that list are they?

that list been active for over 4yrs the list was extended. They are well in the 4,000's maybe even close to 5,000. I heard it should end in July not sure tho so dont quote me
  13. I took the exam yesterday at 3pm. Yes the exam is easy in the sense of the concepts being easy, but I still utilized most of the time allowed(2:50 out of 3:00). I wanted t make sure that I got 100 on that exam or very close to it. I was the second to last person left in that room and my ego was a little hurt by that, especially with a few people leaving half way into the exam. I hope everyone did well, but I do think that people will get a lower score than expected because they underestimated the exam and probably did not answer the questions with caution. There was one question in particular which I am pretty sure had two correct answers on the key. I hope everyone had a good experience, I believe I scored between 98-100. Ask me any questions if curious and share your experiences. How long did you guys take on the exam?

I took 2hrs but stayed an extra 30 mins to go over my answer's. I know what question you are talking about with those two correct answers. Both answers are coffect and when the answer key come out. It would have it as both. Meaning for example question 12. A,D. I know because the station agent exam had a few of them on it.
  14. Did they make a big deal about bringing backbacks?

I didn't see anyone with a backpack. I'm sure they won't though. They say dont bring phones but they allow it in the building just have to turn it off b4 the test start

Yes exactly, it wouldn't be surprising to accidentally bubble in the wrong answer, no rush. Yes the question was in the 40's. It was the question type that involved when tracks a-b and r-g being fixed and what time certain trains would be affected during those times when work was being done on those particular tracks. Ring a bell?

yes I remember those questions I took my test in the am. Same test questions just moved around. Mines was 28-33
  15. Well, your PM feature is not activated yet...from what I can see. If the question is not too specific, then you can ask it here...the more general you are, the better.

By the way, I took the test this afternoon as well. I will admit that there were a couple of tricky questions...

Did they make a big deal about bringing backbacks?

I didn't see anyone with a backpack. So I really can't say if it will be an issue
  16. Are you thinking about comparing your Candidate's Record of Answers sheet to others?  If so, I would say it's probably a waste of time.  I did that with Bus Operator exam 4600 and can tell you that everyone I pmed who took the test at the same time/date as me had different answers.  I think everyone gets the same questions on the test but they're listed in different order in the booklets.

Everyone who took the test on the same day and time have the same test. The ppl who take it the same day but say PM and not AM get the same questions but moved around. I dont want to compare just ask about a specific question
