Why is it so difficult for CBTC to be installed?
can’t they just slap a sensor at each end of a consist (including conductor ends) that details their speed and braking distance that informs the operator when it’s too close to another train?
Because CBTC is a highly advanced system used for trains to run closer together and needs to consistently be tested in order for them to work safely for when it is active on a line/s, we won’t have a incident when God Forbid two trains collide because of a faulty computer system. Plus the process is long as some branches have to shut down entirely for certain weekends to not only replace old 50 year old signals, but to do cables and all that technological stuff which takes a while and cost money. Plus you add delays while testing trains along that corridor. I wished the MTA would do ATC systems like most other transit system uses like CTA, WMATA, BART and etc but it’s too late now.

Where are these cars right now? Still at 39th St? I may take a ride over tomorrow to see 'em if that's where they are, not that there's all that much to see.
I'll combine that with a visit to my favorite BBQ in Industry City.
Yes they’ll be there until the other cars come in and then unveil them and then they’ll get towed to CIY (pretty much like the R211A)

Correct, The last MTA document stated November. If it gets pushed back again (don't wanna jinx it), we'll find out soon enough.
According to that same document, the first 10-car R211T should be arriving anytime between now & next week; basically any day now.
And I Believe (correct me if I’m wrong) the R211S will be here mid 2023 right?

Can someone refresh my memory as to why it took them 19 years to rebuild Cortlandt St?
The MTA and the Port Authority Going back and forth for years to finalize a contract to rebuild it plus construction delays due to The MTA having to rebuild right under WTC and there were complications

Beeline Could’ve done better with the 62 instead of Cutting it to New Rochelle from Fordham. It just makes it useless atp. It would’ve been better if they ran it Down Boston Post Rd/Boston Rd express instead of letting it stop at all stops south of New Rochelle with the 60/61. It would really help riders get to Fordham quicker and be able to transfer to Subway and the MNRR at Pelham Pkwy and Fordham Station (on MNRR)

beeline has currently 398-399, 411-414, 418, 425, 428, 430, and 434 in service/on beeline property

So I was at 149th St today and it seems they paved over the express tracks at Grand Concourse.
Those are temp platforms to provide better connections until the stairwells on the far end of the platforms are done

Why does CS keep borrowing buses from other depots instead of actually running its new Novas?
I believe it’s Maintenance with some of their current fleet of buses plus driver training with the new Novas coming in which can lead to them being short to send fleet out for service duty So they do some loans

I’ve been seeing videos of the R211 testing and I noticed something, unlike the previous NTT cars, the R211’s can burn-in test and passenger info test without actually opening the doors. Pretty neat.
Good you brought that up actually I was wondering why those doors were still closed while the indicator lights are bright red in stations. I wonder if they’ll open them as time goes on

Quick question, is it a good idea to take the BxM4 going towards Woodlawn to Yankee Stadium during Rush Hour?
Definitely not. I recently took the BXM4 heading up to Woodlawn and it took 30min to go from 149 to MT Eden With the heavy construction they’re doing along concourse

The S variant all depends on when the R211S goes in service first which they said Spring 2024. As for the Other "A" variants. Should resume soon depending on the current state with the gearbox issues.
