Congratulations, I went through same thing got called for an interview back in June with my list number in the 6***, and got a letter to call when ready, may I ask you how you restored your name to the list?

I emailed DCAS at certificationunit@dcas.nyc.gov. With my name, SSN #, exam #, list#, and the reason why for restoring my name.. A few days later I called DCAS to see if they received the email (spoke to someone). Last the following week (after Sunday) I listened to automatic system to see if my name was really restored... ( some people say you get a letter from DCAS saying your number was restored but I never did as why I went the way I did)

  2. Hello all.. update for everyone, I restored my name in early January due a pending ticket I had when they first called me in July,2018. On March 15 I got a phone call to report to 180 Livingston st. to start pre-employment on Monday the 18th. On Wednesday the 20th I received another call via Chestnut to come back on Monday the 25th to do medical and finish the pre-employment process. That day I finish, got my pass number and all to start class on Monday April 1.

Regardless if you're at fault or not, you can have a maximum of two accidents on your abstract within the past three [3] years when you go down to 180 Livingston Street. As it was previously stated, they will not be calling from this list until 2019. Therefore, if you currently have three accidents on your abstract, and the oldest one took place on December 31st, 2015 (or around that time), when you go down to 180 Livingston Street, providing you don't get into another one, you'll be fine.

Thanks a bunch for the info!!!

I got mine too!  and they already gave us signals to study, well I'll take any extra days I can get

When they email you for the overview they send you horn, buzzer, whistle and hand signs... that’s just an example for the moment. Don’t study that.. at the overview they will give you the materials you’ll need to study... signal and definitions

It sounds like they changed the process since most of us hired on (even from just 2.5 years ago for me). For my group, we did the background check before receiving the invitation to the S&D overview. The hiring process went relatively quickly after passing the S&D test. I was an employee less than a month after the test, and medical was only about 2 weeks before my start date. I got my offer only 11 days before class started. But again, things sound very different now, so my answer is probably useless to you.

No it isn’t.... but thank you!!!

Well Everyone seems to have a different timeframe it’s seems like from 2 years ago they were calling a lot faster than now. I’m from the group that passed in may and we are looking at a Jan/Feb class of next year.

Oh wow... that’s a long time.. so did you already do background check and medical with the LIRR?!

4 years ago ??... did you pay it ?

Nope cause every time there was a court date the cop was on vacation. The most recent date back in April the cop didn’t show... so now I gotta wait till January for the next court date
