There are no interview questions: just processing your paperwork, fingerprinting if it applies, and swearing in. Since I was separated from city service less than a year, I didn't have to pay the fingerprinting fee and didn't have to do fingerprints. There is no fingerprint waiver if you are on public assistance. Have your CPD-B form filled out completely. Research your I.R.S. W-4 and N.Y.S. IT-2104 allowances because the M.T.A. doesn't give the secondary papers to make the calculations. Bring a blue and black pen. Make sure you have your direct deposit information, beneficiaries for your pension with social security numbers. The secondary pack of papers the M.T.A. gives you must not have any errors or you have to do them all over. You have someone call your name and they look at all your paperwork for accuracy. You swear in and sign an oath to uphold the Constitution as a Station Agent. After that you get your new hire packet, booklets, and training location. I took my picture for my i.d. That sums it up basically.

Hey I took my drug test on Wednesday. They said 3-90 days to hear back. How long did it take you to hear back after initial drug test ? Thank you.

  2. Just a related update. I received a letter in the mail yesterday directing me to come in for paper work and a drug test this week for STATION AGENT.

Still waiting for my call in for conductor since taking the OPA in October.

Side note: I completely forgot I took the test for station agent.

That is incorrect. I have friends and family who retired and still working for transit. The conductors exam is 100 top score not 105. However they work they way down. I got a 98 and was called for opa two months ago. They told me that the Top 2000 scores will be called in for the opa then those who passed will be called for the medical and physical.

How/ when will we know if we passed the OPA? If you know.

Long time lurker here.  Just wanted to share my thoughts on the OPA.  I got 1 wrong on the first exam and took the OPA on 10/3.  Going into the OPA, I was worried about the memory test due to my horrible memory, but I felt it wasn't that bad.  I just closed my eyes and listened. I may have gotten 1-2 wrong. The speaking test on the other hand was much more difficult for me.  My mind went blank on like 3 or 4 of those.  Now I'm worried about my results.  Also, they said about 37,000 took this test.

What do you mean you’re mind went blank? You didn’t answer them at all?

I haven't forgotten about the test at all lol I've been patiently waiting everyone else who passed seems to get one except me, is it possible to email them and ask if they mailed one out to me?

It’s almost always possible to email somebody.

That's weird i got 3 wrong and i haven't received my opa in the mail at all...

Hang in there and stay hopeful. I actually forgot all about the test until I received that mail. I’m surprised you guys are in forums actually looking up on the job announcement.

Could someone tell me who you spoke to? Was it a computer or person? Do you have someone sitting right in front of you looking at you while you speak?

This will make me nervous as hell and I might forget stuff, especially if the person is an attractive female.

I might bring sunglasses if this is the case.

You speak to a real person.
