Yeah ,  I had ticket number A105 . I was one of the first to whizz .lol I wanted to be in and out of that place . Hopefully we get a call by Friday saying we are clean.

  2. Got to 180 Livingston at 6:15 am . Got an Early Bird park around the corner for $18 . Was on line at 6:30 am , NYCT opened the doors at 7:00 and by that time the line was long as phuck !  Filled out some paperwork and got an urinalysis and bounced around 10:15 am . They gave us a big homework package to take home . Probably more time/jobs/school/I.D. info to fill out . Waiting on a call to see what's next .

The practical comes when you apply for the promotion or open competitive position for either light maintainer, transit electromechanical maintainer (E&E or V&D), power distribution, power maintainer, eletronic equipment maintainer, or telephone maintainer.  Those are permanent positions.

Little tidbit, if you have not been drafted into Signal Maintainer Trainee, you have the opportunity to get into Elevator and Escalator.  Elevator and escalator SPECIALIST is one of the highest paying hourly positions in Transit.

Electronic Equipment Maintainer is also another well paying position.

How does one get "drafted" into Signal Maintainer Trainee ? Is it by experience ? list number ? Do they tell you they are selecting you for that position or is that a position that one had to actually apply for ? Are they drafting from the Electr Helper Signals pool ?

I got a letter saying that they are considering for a position as an electrical helper and I have to go in next week to begin pre-employment processing.

What date did you do the Safety Assessment ? Did you get drug tested yet or is that part of pre-employment processing ?

Went to assessment on the 14th. Took it not too confusing but very vague.

    best of luck guys.

I agree with Victorious29 . Some of the scenarios there was no real way to determine who was in the wrong or which one could have avoided it . Oh well . . . I took my test on the 18th of March . Hopefully we'll hear from NYCTA in about 4-8 weeks time .

I was considered for a provisional position as transit Electrical Helper the letter came on March 2 2018.the date is 4/14/2018 at 8:00 am .

Yo Byrd , Did you take the safety assessment on Saturday ? How was it ? Was it crowded in the waiting area ? Let's us know a lil something something .

  7. Nope , they didn't say anything to me neither . If dress and appearance accounts for anything , I passed . LMAO . . . People showed up wearing any and everything . I guess in a few weeks we'll receive a letter saying 👍🏿 or 👎🏿 . Some of those scenarios were kinda vague . Some you really couldn't tell who was at fault , so I'm assuming they were just looking for answers explaining how it could have been avoided or the injury lessened . Just my opinion .
