How did you get added back? Ive been trying since January only to have Dars tells me that I am employed with the MTA (im not) and HR at the MTA tells me to talk to dars

Same thing happened to me last year. I returned to my previous title yet TA still had me as a train operator (even pay rate For months ). Took a year and one month to finally get TA and DCAS to straighten everything out.

I suggest you email HR once a week and call Dcas every two weeks.

Thanks bro! Been in training since the 10th of April and it’s been good so far. A lot of information the first week and been learning how to couple the trains and put them back together. Trying to study the signals as well.

Were you able to pick your preferred division? Was the class split evenly between A and B?

Question… Do mta employees get free ez pass? Do we get allowances for commute and parking expenses.? I was reading something about transitcheck nd sum else forgot what it was called

Nope. Get used to hearing “that’s why you have a pass”

This one came out on 3/10/23. It has an expiration date of  4/10. Most likely they won’t do another one until it’s really old. They will just keep calling as needed. The previous one before this was in July I believe and expired in August and they called from that list all the way into January.

I got my name restored on 3/10/23 so I guess i barely missed being on that list. Guess I’ll have to wait for the next certification.
    thanks

You have to be able to pick in the division you are transferring to.

There are times when a division is so short that they ask for volunteers, and you can transfer as XX, but that doesn't happen often.

Otherwise, you can't transfer while being XX.

    Exactly.

Not true. Just put in a request before it's time to pick in whichever division you want to go to.

First time I’ve heard that. My whole CR class got drafted to B except for me because I was out sick during school. Almost four years later and a few of them are still unable to transfer over despite writing g2s, speaking to Supt etc.

I'm in Queens and was placed in the A division.  My commute time is usually 1hr 40min to 2 hr to the Bronx yards then the same for going home.  In total around 4 hours of commuting each day.  It's honestly brutal.  The training it self doesn't make me tired, it's the commuting.  Every day I think about quitting.

However, I tell myself that if I do make it out of school car that I'll move to somewhere in the Bronx.  I'm not sure if that is a good idea, but I'm sure that I'll have to report to the Brooklyn and Queens locations for jobs.  I honestly have no idea what to do, but I know that I cannot keep up this commute for long.

Moving to the Bronx or westchester will be the better plan. I’ve never had a job out of Brooklyn. Once in a blue I’ll get a job on the 7/3.

why u quit?  honestly being a CR is better.  but just curious why u wanna be a TO again?

I live close to every terminal in the Bronx (10min avg commute) and I got pushed into B.

At least you've gotten replies from DCAS and you have the option of going to Livingston. I'm stuck emailing DCAS over and over with no reply. No option to even go see someone in person.

How did you get in contact with DCAS? Email?

You need to call DCAS every day around 10am. It took 20 tries but they answered.

They really should make a better system to restore people's names to the list.  Since the 16 I've sent 2 emails and I've gotten nothing (no email, no letter) in response. At this point I don't know what else they expect me to do.

    Good luck with that!
I’ve been trying to get my name back on the list since the day I resigned from T/O. I’ve spoken twice to Dcas and they say they can’t restore my name back to the list because the system still shows I’m hired as a t/o and that I need to contact HR so they can update my info/status. Once HR updates my title to CR then I have re send my form to dcas.
Problem is Ms. Vargas and Ms. Olha don’t reply to emails. I still show up as train operator on BSC/Uniform site.

If union can’t help me out then I will have to go to 130livingston

For those that are waiting for their list # to be reached I heard that they have classes scheduled, all the way up into December. Also there are always people resigning and also going back to previous titles like me.

Did you return to CR and got back on the list for TO?

For anyone who is dreading School Car you're already putting yourself in a bad position. It's nothing to fear, it's called School Car for a reason you're in school. The only thing you should worry about is trying to stay awake after lunch. I'm in school now and it's not bad at all. It might seem overwhelming at first but it gets better. Create good habits and you'll be fine. I have one of the strictest TSS who co-authored the current text books for school and I'll tell y'all what he told us," You're going to make mistakes, this is the time to be your worst as a TO because there's only one direction to go from the bottom..". Study and get there early, on time is late.

Im guessing Tss Richardson? School car is fun, but you have to study study study........

B division is most in need so I'm sure those of u who want it will get it. A division is another story. One of the classes that came out not long ago got a huge surprise on their last day of school car when they were notified that even though they just completed A division training, they were all getting sent to the B. Instead of being released to the screw office they stayed in schoolcar and road posting an addition 2 months.

The ones that lived in the Bronx can still be heard sobbing if you are quiet enough at ps 248.

Yeah I heard about that! Crazy shit!

I can only imagine driving from the BX to Coney Island to be on board at 0500 and pick up a job at 207 -_- Then finish work and go ALLLLLLL they way back to Coney Island to pick up your car and drive back to the BX. But they expect you to get full rest...
