Does anyone know how many people passed the sd test in june? also does anyone know if any of the people who passed in may have entered a class yet? thank u in advance.

just to ease your minds, my class did not recieve overview invite until 3-4 days before the overview. We recieved the invite on a thursday and the overview was the following monday. After passing the aptitude test and being interviewed at the open house, i was told to look out for an invite to overview within the next week and that invite didnt come until 4-5 weeks later. So everyone who made it to the interview at the open house, plan on being at the overview, the invite will come!!

10 people total for one class? i thought they take 24 for a class?

I had this convo with my cousin yesterday.. If a candidate gets selected to attend the open house and doesnt go, do you think that person will ever get another oppertunity at any other position with the lirr? I said no but my cousin thinks they would. My cousin is an a/c he graduated class back in march. He knows more than i do. What do u think?

im really confused as to what your saying.. you took the sd test yesterday and they didnt tell you if u passed or not after u took the test? To my knowledge, everyone who took the sd test was told that day if they passed or not and if u passed they conducted interviews the same day as the test. Is it a different process now? im soo confused.

You took the S&D test today? Or are u talkn about a diff test? How many people passed? Congrats!! What did they mean by 3 month cycle starting in Sept? Does that mean they are having the Sept class that was up in the air? Whatever info u can share would be very appreciated not just by me but by all of the others who passed and have been waiting to hear anything. Thank you in advance.

Has anyone heard anything at all about any upcoming new classes? Does anyone know if the LIRR got the funding for the Sept class?

Does anyone know how many people passed the sd test in april, may and june ? July had 22 people pass. Im just trying to somehow figure out how many people are waiting to be put into a class since april. Its probably an impossible task but worth a shot.

I have to say im really quite surprised that many people who have passed the sd test still have yet to recieve any sort of email after passing their sd test.. With that being said, Does anyone know if the panel interview and/or the hand written assignment they give u after u complete ur test have any effect at all on your overall standing with the lirr? Do those two things count for anything?? Does anyone know? The only thing i know is that i watched linda going over my hand written assignement and she was actually writing down some sort of number for my answers to each question. So maybe the panel interview and hw assignment account for more than we think??? Anyone know for sure?

Any idea what the reason would be that someone never gets an email of any sort after passing the sd test?

This is a great question and i will do my best to answer it mlad.. At the overview on june 11th they had us write down 2 dates for classes that will be starting. The first date was Aug 22nd and the second date was Sept 26th. At the test yesterday, after i found out i passed, i asked linda if it will be possible to be put in the aug class and she told me no because its full already. Then i said ok so then most likely ill be in the sept class and her reply was, What sept class? i dont know nothing about any sept class, this test right here is for classes that will start in jan and feb. It took me by major surprise hearing that from linda.... then when we were going over the hand and whistle packet, classes were brought up again and the instructor said that they are trying to have the sept class but it depends on funding. It was a major dissapointment. I dont understand how the instructor would know about a sept class but linda would not know anything of it... Does anyone know how that works? or how they select dates for new classes??

Hi wakada, can i ask u what u mean by short 2 questions? Does that mean you got a 76 on the test? Do u know if all ur signal names were correct? Im sorry to hear u missed by 2 questions. Just keep up the determination, reapply and kill it the next time around!!! I believe if u fail the test, you have to wait 1 year, then reapply and if they again select u, then u have to repeat the entire process all over again.. Open house, overview, then sd test again. If im wrong can someone please correct me?

I just wanted to say that although i passed the S&D exam with a 100%, something happened today that really put a really bad taste in my mouth. I really wish i can share it with everyone, but it would be totally out of line to post it on a public form. It really has me enraged!

ps. i was the one all the way up in the front right next to the door we walk in and out of. Black suit. not sure if u realize who i am? where did u sit for the test?

Heyyyyyy FD, I did awesome man!! I got 100%!!!! i was sooo thinking of standing up and asking out loud which one is FD87 hhahahahaha... ok so enough about me, how did u make out man? im sure u passed as well??!?!!

hey ironhorse, thats exactly what i have been doing the last two days. flash cards plus cd. the cd will point out a tiny mistake u made that maybe u wouldnt even catch using flash cards. so i too have found it somewhat useful, but the cd is also a tiny bit outdated, a couple defs are missing a word here and there and for that, its a little irritating.

Thanks for the advice Mlad... I have strictly used my flash cards the last 4.5 weeks(since the night of the overview up until right now) . Over the last 2 days, in addition to using my flash cards, i just wanted to try something new so i tried out the cd, but i have learned everything from my flash cards and will continue using them right up until they tell us to put everything away on test day this upcoming monday.

Hey fd, just wanted to check in with you.. how are u making out? i cant tell u how nervous i am man.. knowing our test is just days away is so nerve wracking. I think whats making me the most nervous is the fact that if you get just one signal name wrong, thats it your out! even if the rest of your test is absolutely perfect. Like writing medium approach instead of approach medium. i absolutely have studied my butt off over the last 5 weeks as im sure u have as well. im guessing your done with everything now and are just reviewing. Have u used the cd they gave us at all? i have and i have mixed feelings about it. Some of the stuff on the cd differs from the packet they gave us. Let me know how everything is going bro.
