  1. The fix for all this is actually really simple & pretty obvious tbh.

Make the n24 100% closed-door in Queens, particularly the segment shared by the Q36 along Jamaica Avenue (before it becomes Jericho Turnpike in Nassau County).

What ISN’T a solution is n20G/H’ing it (i.e.; splitting it in half).

  2. The (E) train I’m on left Jamaica Center at 905 PM and has been going sooooooooooooooooo painfully slow for the entire time it’s on QBL. Like...it REALLY does not need to take an hour to get from Jamaica Center to Port Authority.

And there REALLY REALLY is no need for an (E) train to take much longer than an (R) train leaving Forest Hills at the same time to reach Queens Plaza. i.e.; I should’ve just transferred to the (R) at Forest Hills.

  3. Hah, all the schedules tell me leaving Jamaica Center on the (E) at 9:10 PM “should” get me to Bedford Park (give or take some statistically favorable transfers/connections) to make it to the 10:35 PM W20 trip.

Welp, BOTH the IRT Jerome AND IND Concourse decided otherwise.

    How’s your Thursday night going?

  4. 6:19 PM W20 trip to White Plains purposely left too early, stranding everyone (and me) who got off the (4) train at 6:17 PM, BEFORE the trip is due out.

I think I finally figured out why the 6:43 PM & 7:00 PM weekday n/b W20 trips are always crowded (and late), and the 7:15 PM is always half empty.

So yeah, someone please nerf this 6:19 B/O & add TWO additional n/b weekday W20 trips from Bedford Park to White Plains departing between 6:20 PM & 7:00 PM, please?

The crowding imbalance with these particular trips has been going on for at least four years, with no end in sight.

Their Sunday service is especially ridiculous. Even NICE Bus does better

Sunday service (or lack thereof) is painful to say the least (I'm looking at you, bi-hourly 5 & 6).

The 1 & 2 just recently got more Sunday morning service.

Yet, the 4 continues to suffer with early cutoffs on Sunday nights.

Personally, I'm not a fan of hourly service to/from New Rochelle on the 7 (or hourly service to/from White Plains on the 60).

The amount of time the 20 gets between timepoints on Sundays is all out of whack; too much time between White Plains & Fort Hill Road, yet nowhere near enough time between Fort Hill Road & The Bronx. And, good luck finding a Sunday trip on the 20 to/from White Plains that isn't super packed in the middle of the day. Like...the half-hourly frequency is enough to get everyone on-board, but once a trip on that frequency becomes late (or generally gets more people than usual) or even worse, gets a 40 footer bus assigned to it, all hell breaks loose.

One trooper is immune to the Sunday chaos though. The 78 (which uses only one schedule variant everyday).

NICE finally released their spring schedule. The only noticeable changes are the n79 getting Saturday Service restored and some n22x trips beginning at Jamaica Terminal.

That intermediate gap is such an eyesore tbh. The n21's iteration of this gap is also odd, albeit different. On weekdays, there is no midday service on the n21. But on Saturdays, the n21 has a consistent hourly frequency, including midday.
