Yeah I called Ms.Vargas asking her for advice and she was like to defer because I'm already starting conductor. She said the list doesn't expire until 2022 so if I find out conductor isn't for me then I can always put my name back on the list by going to DCAS in person, she also mentioned that if I go for T/O before my probation for conductor is over and I don't pass everything for T/O then I'll have nothing to fall back on and I'll have to wait for the next exam and wait all over again. So I'm going to fill out the paper I got in the mail and send it back to them tomorrow my 2nd PE is June 10th so hopefully they get it before then. And I start orientation for conductor the 10th so unfortunately I can't make it. I wish T/O called me first tbh...

Good choice. I wish i had taken the conductor exam when it came out but i was living out of state at the time. At least your in and you have an option to upgrade yourself at a later time thats a plus. Congrats hope all goes well

Quick question guys, does anyone know if I have to bring in the paperwork in the brown envelope filled out for the 2nd PE? And does anyone know if one has to fill out the paper work with employment  information dating back to High School for the 2nd PE? thank you guys.

when i spoke with ms. vargas a few months back she said its a repeat of the first p/e filling out employment history and whiz quiz. they should have a copy from the first appointment. brown envelope im not sure about i think that's for medical which is final processing

Yeah I'm thinking the same most likely by next year we'll get an answer I'm just glad I haven't received multiple PEs to come in when they aren't ready for my list number yet. I heard people receiving 3 or more PEs and haven't gotten called yet.

yea i've been keeping an eye on this forum and im glad to see motion

When I went for my first P/E late last year, folks were dressed in regular street clothes. I know the packet states Business Casual. Can anyone tell me what’s the “least acceptable” way to come dressed to Livingston? Last time I had on a full suit but if I can be a little more comfortable I prefer that lol.

i wore a polo and slacks and cheap dress shoes when i went

Ok so this is how it goes . After the June class.  Comes july21 and Aug 18.

    The classes should be 60 / 60 / 65.

Yes it is a fact , came straight from school car . 😀 that's 185 people which puts me in there.  I don't care which class it is . We got this .

I am so ready to leave conductor . Want to move that train . (Which I've already done lol)

if you dont mind my asking whats your list number?

Thought I would shed some light on this to help those who don’t understand it. Here are what each column means.

This info comes from just deducing and picking my union rep’s mind a little.

Cert Seq No – Certification Sequence Number. Not 100% sure, but I believe this is your rank in the current certified list. For example, if your Cert Seq Number says “150”, that means you are ranked 150th on the list of people that will be called in for the next pre-employment.

Request Date – Date that NYC Transit asked for a certified list of probable employees for the vacancies available.

    Salary – Self Explanatory

Cert Issue No – Just the ID number for the list

Cert Date – Date the list was certified

    Reissue Date – no idea

Cert Expiration Date – The date that list expires. So they have until June 6th to call people in for those vacancies from that list.

No. Certified – Amount of people on the current certified list

No. Requested – Amount of people NYC Transit actually requested. You will notice that the number that was actually certified is always higher than the amount requested.

Provisional Replacement – Whether or not you were being called for provisional or permanent employment

No. Vacancies – Amount of vacancies actually available, which is 225 in our case.

As I was typing this I actually just got the email and an automated phone call to come in May 16th. Really excited.

Good luck to all of you that will be getting calls and emails today and the rest of the week I imagine.

    LETS GET IT!

congrats, thanks for the good info as well

  8. i had my wife pull it up the info from her mobile phone and she ended up seeing it. i also tried to call livingston to find out info about the certification dates but i didn't a response. if someone is free could anyone try to call dcas to see if they have info on what that means or livingston.
