I thought I had seen something about reverse peak trains being added as well, and that in the AM, they were later, like around 10 or something. I guess that wouldn't be to benefit riders, so probably for some operational benefit or something (I know that area feels like such a long winding rollercoaster, and always thought express would be nice; too bad they now can't find a suitable local replacement so that all (F)'s could go express).

Anyone else heard about something like this? I forgot where I saw it, whether here or on some FB group or elsewhere).

I think it was the testing of the express runs where they ran the trains reverse peak

They should have not only cameras, but also security as well, in every station and every subway car (including the cabs). This way, crimes throughout the entire subway system are vastly reduced. It also lets them see everywhere the trains go too. This way, they can keep track of their on-time performances, crowding levels on platforms and trains, and irregularity of trains. It also prevents the T/Os from using the punch boxes just to let each tower know what train they’re operating. It’s still up to them to route you correctly, however. It also helps to prevent C/Rs from answering passengers’ questions and thus delaying their assigned train.

    you dragged it

To make sure that the train is working properly before entering service. It is a safety hazard to put a brand new train in service without being tested first.

right , f**k around and the doors randomly open while the train is packed and moving

MTA's method of waiting until the last minute to add or fix an AAS program is completely unprofessional. Remember the (F) via Broadway G.O and none of the (F) trains were signed up correctly because the program didnt exist yet? Or when the (W) started going to 96th St and the announcements were glitched and kept saying "This is a Queens bound (W) local train."? Does the agency not have a team to ensure that glitches like these are worked on BEFORE the actual G.O starts?

That’s the same thing the (M) announcement says when it heads uptown to 145th

I could make some service changes:

    (N) :

All Times 96 St/2 Av to Coney Island. Normal Weekdays Express in Manhattan and Brooklyn from 57 St/7 Av to 59 St. Weekends Express in Manhattan and Brooklyn.            Overnights all Local via Tunnel and 4 Av.

    (Q) :

Astoria Ditmars Blvd to Coney Island All Times.

Normal Weekday Express after 34 St to Canal St and over Bridge stop at DeKalb Av Brighton Line local.  Weekends local in Manhattan from 57 St/7 Av until Prince St, then stop at Canal St and over Bridge and stop at DeKalb Av. Overnights local in Manhattan until Prince St, then stop at Canal St and over Bridge stop at DeKalb Av and Brighton Line.

    (W) :

service remain the same however more trains would operate to and from 86 St/Gravesend.

    (R)

    service remain the same.

why not make it all the way express to 57th

The (Q) does NOT go to the local track, it goes to what is the "express" track (at DeKalb the outermost track) as the inner "local" tracks are only accessible from the tunnel.  With that in mind:

    (B) is truncated to West 4th Street with select trains southbound ending at and starting back northbound from 34th Street.

    (D) and (R) are unaffected by this.

    (N) and (Q) temporarily swap line routes in Brooklyn with the (N) operating via Brighton and the (Q) via Sea Beach.  (N) also operates via the tunnel while the (Q) skips DeKalb.

If capacity permits, the (J) and (Z) are extended to Brighton Beach (running express Prospect Park-Brighton Beach) to replace (B) service in Brooklyn, operating via Montague.

I doubt (MTA) would do that
