Good evening y’all, anyone with a hearing loss doing this process? Also what do they do for the hearing test. Last question, I got a hand written ticket on 12/31/21. It is not yet posted online to be paid. Is there a place near 180 Livingston that I can go to pay before heading over to my appointment? Thanks for any information.

You can pay on the official app of the New York City Department of Finance you can download it on the App Store if you have an iPhone not sure about android it’s called NYC Pay or Dispute

Just came from 180 Livingston, just found out  they allow up to 6 points for bus operators. I felt bad because someone got turned away for having more than that. As soon as you reach a window they take your IDs and run your license. I went today for another exam I just wanted to give you guys the information.

That’s  very telling of an individual that person has poor driving  habits and all of those points attribute to being pulled over by the police because speed, red light and bus lanes enforcement. cameras don’t incur points  i wish them well but i also think they should look for another position I wouldn’t trust them with a bus and the responsibility of transporting people

  3. things surely have changed before they only wanted 10 years of work history i'm not sure who approved this change but going all they way back to when you were in high school is a bit much and lot of work the lady told one guy he had 20 minutes to figure it out or she was going to skip him there are some people who just put unemployed because they forgot where or who they worked for during the time frame

this is why all employers should use the work number so that former employees can verify work history

  4. The test being administered today and maybe tomorrow is not the BOSS it is the same test that they give for the TA Bus Operator title I will speculate that this might be how it’s done going forward as part of consolidation just my take

they also give you the canary yellow paper to jot down your answers for when it comes time for them to post the proposed answer key

Got a feeling they'll be assigned down South? If not where would they go?

The Northern Division is still in need of buses the life cycle of those 40 foot buses have arrived I can’t see NJT assigning the south buses just because. Oradell, Fairview and Market street fleet aren’t in a state of good repair no matter how much maintenance they perform on those buses it’s time for them to go they are barely road worthy

One of the New Flyers is receiving a new transmission and/or trailer. They aint even that old yet to be breaking down 🤣

Also, has anyone else noticed that some Xcelsiors are better built then others?

     here's the answer

What is the importance of burn in testing?

Burn-in tests allow detecting problem trends so as to prevent usage of reliability-critical components. Burn-in is the backbone of parts screening, the major vehicle to eliminate defective parts at the early phase of the product life and to ensure product reliability.

Rockland Coaches have been suspended as of 4/4 with "hopes of returning in May" but no date in sight for its return.

During the off-peak hours in various times of day, I have never seen more than 15 people on the 11A (that is being generous). Much of the route in NJ overlaps with NJT's 165R (and NJT's monthly pass is cheaper), so it is hard to attract NJ riders.

With many if not all businesses still operating from home (if possible), and companies finding ways to make working at home work, even when things go "back to normal" it may be a new normal (more companies may allow work from home, 2-3 days a week, so workers will no longer need a monthly pass).

The true effects of the pandemic may not be known for months if not years afterwards.

I hope Decamp comes back in one shape or other. We used them twice for charter services and was pleased.

The portion of the 11A which serves Rockland County NY  I don’t necessarily think would be greatly affected that much they can drive to the park & ride at palisades center mall and take Hudson Link to Tarrytown and catch Metro-North and the portion which runs in NJ they can use the 165 keep in mind that Rockland is also served by the west of Hudson which includes the Port Jervis & Pascack Valley lines

Does Meadowlands have trips on the 156/R? 20803 was doing the 156R yesterday and I was wondering whether the bus was briefly loaned/transferred to Fairview, or if Meadowlands has 156/R trips that I'm just not aware of. Sorry if it's a bit of a stupid question, I'm not that familiar with njt depot-route assignments.

Yes they do have trips on those routes not a stupid question at all what’s I find odd is the person or people making these decisions Fairview and others are in dire need of new articulated buses but they would send them to meadowlands inept if you asked me

That’s likely with south jerseys 18000s. 18001-18129 will most likely go to market st/oradell and south gets a new batch again due to mileage. EHT buses are already in the 300k. 16001 has over 420k as it’s a demo bus.

I don’t know how likely that is the excuses I get range from Oradell can’t have 45’ buses because “they can’t fit in the maintenance pit” first off who grand idea was it to select a location that  was flood prone didn’t build a facility that wasn’t height restricted Oradell you can’t hoist anything in the air to do proper maintenance everything is done in the maintenance pit Trust me I’m tired of driving raggedy equipment seats with no cushion and he likes

Dont think any will be built with the new huge garage being built for Oradell and Market st etc...

Not happening anytime soon NJT time line seems to point to 2025 the latest at the rate they’re going they might as well purchase a whole bunch of XD40’s with suburban seating and no rear door for Oradell and call it a day
