Congrats on getting hired! I’m sorry you had to go through such a rough time. It is worth it. I was hired in March and I love it. You have to have tough skin throughout the process and your time working here. What you went through will never happen again , but schoolcar is a different beast in and of itself. Good Morning, So I’ve heard from someone high up in Transit that the current list will expire next year. I believe sometime in February 2022. If they call you for anything even if its for cleaner take it just to get your foot in the door.

Good Morning hope everyone is well! This question is for the season MTA employees. Is there any website I could find that sells MTA hats that are TA approved like a trooper hat or a beanie. A TSS told me we will have to wear hats Oct 1st but I was only sent the goofy conductor hats not the trooper or hat which is what I asked for. I also feel like I read a bulletin about uniforms that did not mention having to wearing hats. I’m probably wrong though

Good luck to anyone posting! If you’ve made it that far you will pass the practical! The real tests are when you’re alone. Super easy job just never lose focus and you’ll be fine. I’ve been out of schoolcar a month now I love it.

This week is a pay week for us, so you won’t get your first check for another two weeks. So around June 10th. Set up direct deposit today. You might not have to pick up your first check if you set it up ASAP.

You will be all over so definitely take the train. You’re only at the school for a week or four days after the orientation. It’s not easy but super rewarding when you finish! Like @BreeBreementioned lateness is not tolerated but you will find out more next week! Best of luck to you all!

First day went well! I loved it. Was working the 4 line and doing the same today and tomorrow. @EAS 10 of us went to A and the other 10 I believe is going to B Div maybe more or less depending on what they chose. @BreeBree Posting is when you another conductor rides with you to see if your operations are tight. It happens after completing most of the course.

Done with posting ! Took the final practical today and passed . Start my first job tomorrow !

Best of luck to the class starting next week! My class just finished schoolcar. It’s a great experience study study study when you get there and ask your TSS’s questions if you don’t understand something. It’s easy to get through you just have to put in the effort.
