No. If you are an OA employee, you have to be rehired as a TA employee and only then would you be able to get a transfer to work in a Queens depot.
I have a classmate that went to OA wanted to come back to mta bus it should be same process ?

in discussions I've had with my shop steward and other ranking members of TWU, this entire redesign, regardless of if certain lines retain the exact routing, headway or designations, gives the authority full control of what lines/runs go where, specifically between Bus Company & TA/OA. in regards to Queens, it's my understanding that routes will be assigned based on proximity, and not hold to the depot alignments prior to whenever the redesigned network is implemented. with that being said, anything can (and usually does) change, and in my opinion, based on some of the line consolidations that are proposed, i definitely see Bus Company depots losing out on lines & runs, UNLESS there's going to be significant amount of lines being split between TA & Bus Co. yards in order to accommodate everyone. if not, i can definitely see a potential "messy" situation for all unions affected (TWU & the ATU Locals)
This going to be interesting because the different unions and the difference on how the runs in mta bus are scheduled compared to TA

Will the ever convert the seating on the ex-q70 xd40 buses back to the regular seating instead of the luggage racks? Rode one of those on the q39 today and it seems like it just takes up space since no one is using those luggage racks.
my only other idea would be too keep these buses on the q47 and q72 but that’s about it.

All of them still have the racks i dont think the management at the depot care much about that

Thank you! I just emailed them now. I hope they get back to me soon. I just renewed my CDL permit and it's only good till the middle of April. Also are they mandating the vaccine or are they still offering a testing option? Someone I know working for MTA as a Bus Operator isn't vaccinated and doing weekly testing so I'm just curious.
Vaccination is required for all new employees

wow, are you sure about this? i had no idea that’s how it worked!
They'll run your license abstract before they allow you to do the drug test if theres something there like points or too many accidents for example they wont let you proceed

Did my drug test today, I guess I will be waiting for my medical appointment. That’s if I don’t get disqualified because of a minor car accident; $ 300.00 cosmetic dmg to my car.
If you did the drug test it means your licensed was good about accidents and points on it otherwise they weren't let you do the drug test

It’s looking that way…. Do you know if the tests are similar, whether doing it with an outside company or MTA?
If you have the option do it with mta they will teach you everything you need to pass.

I’m starting my training next week… But my CDL road test is the same week…. Any advice on how I should go about it?
I would cancel that road test zerega (mta) would schedule a road test for you once you qualified in the 10 day training

One thing too keep in mind the next gen buses are the buses the training buses so maybe the bronx depot keep a few of them for that purpose
