    Hello everyone,

I am a new bus operator working for MTA Bus company out of a depot in Queens. I just started on my own within the last two weeks. I was involved in an accident today. The bus stop I was going to service was obstructed by another vehicle, so as i was going past the vehicle, the right side of my bus hit the vehicle, taking off the mirror and causing a small crack in the glass of my bus. Nobody was injured, i called command and they sent a dispatcher and a superintendent to the scene. Did all the drug and alcohol test and filled out the paperwork. My concern is, will my probation be extended? Will i be fired? Please advise.

Not for the first incident they will send you to do a class 3 incidents will get you extended

Thanks! That's what I figured, just seems to be some overlap earlier in the thread with people talking about getting called for OA as well, taking exams 1100 vs. 2302, etc...

So still curious if anyone has info about the process for transferring to TA eventually, if I did start with MTA Bus - just a wait and see kind of thing?

    Appreciate it.

Just pre-employment no probation you keep everything except retirement and seniority

It will, pay will be retro to current TA rate, insurance is similar and the passes can be used on all transportation now.  You still get paid for half your swing and a dollar extra for artic instead of 2 so basically similar

The pension is less than a TA position but our rate is the same as the local 100 depots and the artic differential is 2 dollar just like TA as long as you are in a local 100 mta bus depot

  4. This training is to get you ready for what you going to face when you are on you own in the bus no body is perfect they look for progress that what you need and listen to what they said because they know if you dont listen now you wont do the things their way once you by your self .

There are different list for various reason they are short on drivers and some of the ppl on the list like my self dont want to switch over for different reason

There seems to be a lot of standards operating on the Q53+ right now for some reason. 7445, 7449, 7455 and 4510.

Apparently they were also running shuttle buses in Manhattan yesterday and today, but there seems to be no mention of such on their website or on Twitter.

This been happening during the summer they be doing some work and installing new cameras in some buses

There is a possibility.. As a general rule.. NEVER LEAVE THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT..  9 out 10 chances  it is an accident and no one won't be charged. Unless severe circumstances.  From the video I saw on the news it was in Middle Village and that's gotta be in LaGuardia territory.

    Q38 territory  college point
