Meh, still not really the best idea. I feel like deinterlining is a pipe dream. Anyways do you got any ideals for a 2nd avenue proposal

I feel like they should make it four tracked, including the existing portion

    Express stations:

    125th

    96th

    72nd

    42nd

    14th

    Houston St

    Hanover Sq

they also should extend the line into the Bronx and Brooklyn, maybe even a branch into Queens

It could also be an opportunity to revive the (V), but obviously not in that color.

Before the (W) was revived there were fanmade plans to revive it via 2nd avenue

it’s a awful idea that makes no sense

I know, the reasoning was that one line (not service) was serving 3 branches

I saw another one that left the (A) and (C) alone (in Brooklyn at least), introduced the (K) as a QBL local and knocked the (R) to Astoria.

    The (E) wouldn’t change much.

Corona is the best barn in the whole entire system. They will turn a turd into something great. Before retirement, their R33/36WF fleet had the best MDBF in the entire system. The CBTC issues and everything aside. They always make sure their equipment is in good running shape.

All the other yards need to take notes from Corona, Jerome’s R142s look like they just stepped out of war zone, or so i heard

Not really...How was the <M> really helping the (B)(D) at that time even when it ran on 4 av......U still had to make a transfer for mid town and uptown service...Thats why they had the split (B)(D) at that time  for one simple transfer at 34st....

the <By> and (D79) were in service in the 80s

  5. The (V) may have stayed if the (F) stayed on 53rd and the (V) went through the newer 63rd. Then again, 63rd was served by literally every 6th avenue line in the 90s except the (D). think about it, there was the (B), (F) and (Qorange) serving it at different times, and the (M) could’ve went on 63rd as well.

  6. How is the (R) a B- ?? i heard QBL service is TRASH on weekends and brooklyn service is AWFUL

also how is the (C) also a B, I heard CPW Local riders SUFFER on weekends because there’s no (B) to come to the rescue.

I also heard that the (2) is terrible during late nights because it makes 61 stops and it’s infrequent.

This ranking is biased as hell.

Also is the belief that if it’s in the area take the IRT/number lines true, or is that just a myth?

I wonder what’s happening on the Manhattan Bridge Broadway Side. Every weekend for months now, trains are being rerouted via lower manhattan, yet nothing being done on the north side of the bridge. Maybe tracks are being replaced, or could this be a sign that trains may need to be rerouted again on a larger scale

We might get (N) via Montague and (Qorange) back. Plus there are switches to still keep the (Qorange) running to 96.

  8. the most iconic rolling stock on each line

    (1) - R62A (mostly all we’ve seen for over 30 years)

    (2) - Redbirds, but the 142s have been on long enough

    (3) - R62

    (4) - R62, though i’ll give credit the 142A

    (5) - i guess the 142s though i think there were also redbirds

    (6) - 142As, 62As are okay but some older rail fans might not agree

    (7) - REDBIRDS

    (A) - i guess i’ll say 44/46

    (B) - R40 Slants

    (C) - R32s, no arguments

    (D) - i guess the 68s

    (E) - 32s, though the 160s may have already reached that status, as it’s all it’s seen for nearly 15 years

    (F) - 46s

    (G) 46/68s

    (J)(Z) - 32s/40s/42s

    (L) - 143s, running on that line for over 20 years, i’ll give it credit. though the 42s are also iconic

    (M) (kinda wish there was a circle brown M bullet) - 42s

    (N) - 32s/68s/160s depending on the decade, now that they’re off the N, some people might appreciate it more

    (Q) - 68s/160s - same with the N

    (R) - 46s

    (S) - depends on what’s shuttle it is

    (V) - 40Ms/42s/46s

    (W) - 40 slants/68s

  9. is there any word on when Jamaica (J)(M)(Z) and Broadway-7th Avenue (1)(2)(3) will happen.

Also my speculation for why Lexington (4)(5)(6) CBTC is postponed is because the MTA still hasn’t awarded the bid for the R262 to any company yet, and spreading out the R142/A’s would leave severe service gaps.

Again, it comes down to the fact that they don't have enough rolling stock, nor will they, to replace everything old on the IRT and BMT in one fell swoop.

Unless you want to personally offer them your own cash so that they can replace everything with NTTs.

    You’re right.

Astoria CBTC as well as Lexington CBTC has been pushed back in favor of 6th ave and Crosstown CBTC due to those 2 lines having the oldest signals in the system. This is why the R211s will be on 90% of the IND lines, Basically all IND lines have to have tech trains within the next 5-6 years.

so they’re favoring the IND and setting aside the BMT and IRT.

Here’s my predictions for which lines will get it after QBL

    Culver (F)(G)

    8th Avenue (A)(C)(E)

    6th Avenue (B)(D)(F)(M)

    Crosstown (G)

    Lexington Avenue (4)(5)(6)

    7th Avenue (1)(2)(3)
    Astoria (N)(W)

No word on when they plan for Broadway (N)(Q)(R)(W) and Jamaica (J)(M)(Z) CBTC and for other lines in Brooklyn & The Bronx like (2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(A)(C)(B)(D)(N)(Q)(R) (Eastern Pkwy, White Plains, Jerome, Dyre, Pelham, Brighton, Fulton, Concourse, West End, Sea Beach, 4th Avenue)

  12. I’ve been having this thought for days, if the double letter services remained into the 80s to become single lettered services, what letters would they become

routes like (JJ67) and (TTB67) would be obvious but what about routes that wouldn’t have been easy, like the (EE67) which was eliminated back in 1976, it obviously couldn’t have became (E) for obvious reasons.
