Man they work QUICK when taking your name off the list smdh ( I had just called them last Friday) . St Jean said he'll add me back by next week. Then i was told that they'll get back to me on weather i can just go straight to final Processing or if I'll have to start at DayONE again 😒 ***FingersCrossed*** 😫
let me know. I had reinstated myself and they scheduled me for a day one appointment on the 22nd but then they canceled it saying they're not hiring anymore so I have to wait for the next group

My apologies for the late post, however, have you considered trying the phone numbers in this post? Hopefully this will do the trick for you.
Good luck!!
Thanks! turns out they took me off the list because i "failed to show up to medical". I had to call DCAS and get reinstated. Now i'm waiting for my medical to be rescheduled

Anyone that goes to this pre-employment, let us know how it goes. Mine is next week. Anyone know if it's business attire or casual?

I JUST GOT THIS EMAIL THIS MORNING....
Hi,
We expect to recanvass candidates from this list in October/November, which should provide you with enough time to consider the opportunity and obtain the necessary license/permit. If you have the requirements, please wait as we are calling candidates shortly. You can also contact 347-643-8219 or email employmentcenteremd@nyct.com to set up an appointment for pre-employment processing.
As long as you have a drivers license valid in NYS (California would be valid), you are good to go.
So it's official! I'm good to go.... I just need to find out when my list number 3** can expect to be contacted, so i can zero in on when i should move back to NYC.
Have you tried emailing / calling the contact they provided you?

Hmmm 🤔 So candidates from exam #9604 are training now? That's what it looks like from the 9604 thread. The letter/email that was sent to me with my 3×× list number stated that canvassing would start in October for exam #9618. I'll try to call them tomorrow and get a definite answer so I'll know when i should move back to NYC.
I assumed hiring from 9618 would start this month as well. If you get any information please keep us updated.

Is exam 2302 the same as the current MTA Bus Operator Position which is currently open for filing, which people can learn more about in this thread/topic?
I just want to be on the same page, that's all...
Yup! Sorry to go off topic here, lol.
In all honesty, this exam (9618) with NYCT seems like a better gig. I'm going to stick it out and pray they start this list soon. Will be getting vaccinated if they call. November 14 seems like a random date. I wonder if they'll be hiring before or after that date.

Got a notification for my exam date. Question; does this exam give me the possibility of running out of Staten Island / Brooklyn / Manhattan? Or are these mainly Queens routes?

I wonder when they will start calling by. I got a phone call / email to take exam 2302 this month as well, I applied after seeing an ad.

Retirement is 25/55.
Pension is through NYCER
401k/457 IRA through Prudential.
Medical Benefit: Aetna
Dental/Vision : Through union.
Hours varies by the run and route. You can work between 80 -120+ hours bi-weekly. Overtime also available depending the depot.
Overtime work:
- Doubles
- Shifting,
- Extra's Piece "Finishing up another run/route that need coverage or Yard work",
- Shuttle's,
- RDO's
- COVID cleaning work
Wow, thank you so much, very helpful.
I know you answered me earlier before in this thread, I assume my pension with NYPD (which is also under NYCER) would carry over. This would be a great opportunity.

Sorry for the double post, I was wondering if anyone can help me with MTA's pension options, retirement age and hours that are worked? The information I find online is scarce and there's so much information to read through here.

Exciting news. I've been checking my email a million times a day. I wonder when this list will be out, if hiring in October is true this is huge. 😄

Hi,
Welcome to the NYC Transit Forum. If you’re applying a civil service title, which this exam is, Your time served from NYPD will carry over. That also applies for Sanitation, FDNY and other civil service agency. Did you apply for this bus operator exam?
Yup. Thanks for the response. Took it in June 2019. From what I remember I got over 95, patiently waiting.

Hey all,
I'm very eager to get a list number for this exam and possibly become a bus operator. I have my CDL B & proper endorsements so I am ready!!!
One question, I am a current city employee (NYPD) looking to make this jump when the opportunity arises. Will my city time carry over?
Thank you.

I was right at the beginning. When I showed up for initial interview I forgot a birth certificate and they discontinued me.
