Hey everyone! What are some of your cold weather clothing recommendations? It's getting chilly and we still haven't gotten anything from the uniform company. Any links would be greatly appreciated!

What do you mean by skipped ahead? I'm still in school car so not really familiar with all the jargon yet

Week 1 of school car complete (whew!) I felt somewhat prepared thanks to these threads and I went with B division Our schedule was all over the place this week (start times ranged from 7am to 3pm + a hurricane) and it was mostly logistical stuff: a day at the union hall, picking up tools at 34th Street, climbing on and off the R68 (or 68A? I haven't quite figured out which is which yet but I know it's coming) and lugging around booksbooksandmorebooks. I felt like one of those elementary school kids with my oversized backpack haha Met a number of TSSs and MTA staff (the pick guys were cool and helpful)...everyone I met had a tidbit of knowledge to share which was nice. My Week 1 schoolcar review: my feet and shoulders are crazy sore but I'm beyond pumped. Would recommend haha Enjoy your holiday weekend everyone

I start tomorrow and it took about 3.5 weeks from getting the canvas letter to getting sworn in. The longest wait was after submitting the application from the canvas (a little less than 2 weeks). Things moved pretty quickly after that Hope this helps

Does anyone know how long we'll be there on the 31st? When the start time was 7am, I assumed we'd have an 8 hour day and I'm wondering if that's the case since we're starting at 3

Yikes. I don't think training for a job like this should be rushed. Hopefully the August 30th class will kick ass like some of the veteran TOs in here I'll probably post as I go along so others can see the current timeline Thanks everyone

Thanks for the speedy response @Jericho Fingers crossed for B division then haha how long is the training currently? I saw a few different ranges over the years so I'm not sure what they landed on most recently

Hey everyone. I started reading this thread once I was hired and it's really informative. Thanks to all the contributors I'm scheduled to start training for T/O August 30th, 2021 and I'm nervous about the divisions. *IF* I get the option to choose, which makes the most sense logistically? I live in Brooklyn near the 2 line (Sterling or Winthrop stations).
