  1. Thanks for all the info. Truly appreciate it. I have a follow up if you don’t mind, does the tour time change daily or weekly (as in is it AM 1 day, PM the next or is it AM 1 week and PM the next). Besides that, any backpack or boot brand you reccomend being on the job?
  2. Hi Milano, May I ask? What has the schedule been looking like over the last 9 months for you? How much of that do you have control over? What would you recommend on getting work, drive or just ride the system? and finally is it similar to bus operators where everyone reports to a depot or do you jump on a train at any random station? Sorry for the loaded question. Really appreciate your feedback here for everyone.
  3. Hello Everyone, I am happy to anounce I am going into the May 22nd class after a year long wait of being put back on the list. I was list # 30xx. If anyone has any questions about the process, feel free to ask. For the rest of the community, my question is any reccomendations on pants, shirts, boots and backpacks? Any particular brand or style? Thank you in advance.
  4. Congrats and best of luck to you. What start date do they have for the May class?
  5. I have a friend that was hired off of the list last year. I believe NYCT (TA) buses are Staten Island where other boroughs are connected to MTA Bus Company or MTA BSTOA which all have different tests. I can also be blowing water with this info but that’s to the best of my knowledge.
  6. Yes. Initially I was hired last year as a Conductor, however, due to a family members health issue I had to skip the class. So it’s been a long year of waiting for me after getting added back to the list.
  7. Good Morning Community 😁 I’m looking for some feedback, all is appreciated. Thank you in advance. I’m in a situation where I got called both for TA Bus Operator and Conductor. Living in Staten Island TA Bus Operator would land me home where conductor would run me to boroughs but not a big deal, wake up early, use your free pass and get to work. With that, anybody in here have any feedback on both jobs? Pros/Cons maybe?
  8. First, congrats on getting the job. Thank you for sharing some insight too. What tours would you say you’ve been getting most frequently and what lines/locations sor far?
  9. Hello Everyone, I have a few questions. If anyone knows. Will there be a class after Feb 21? Does anyone know what the training/probation period is like? Are you thrown into the wild schedule pattern as soon as you graduate? Thanks in advance
  10. Hello everyone, I’m looking for some advice. Currently i’m in a retail job making decent money obviously minus the stability of MTA. Besides taking a pay cut which I don’t mind, I’m hearing from a few people that their work assignment is crazy. Anyone that can give insight on this? I live in Staten Island. Don’t mind working the crazy hours but getting thrown up into the Bronx every so often would make it a killer commute and maybe not worth the pay cut even for the long term? Thank you all in advance.
