  1. From the 1st date. They called me after a week to come in to do the second part and the date of the next class scheduled was literally a few days after but I wasn’t vaccinated so it delayed my process. It’s different for everyone depending on your list number because they have to have a certain amount of ppl for the class.
  2. No problem. Yes I was absolutely shocked I was even called. So you’ll get take your picture on the second preemployment day that they call you when you go get sworn in. One of the papers in the packet there’s a place for you to indicate if u would prefer LIRR or Metronorth. You get your id in training
  3. Okay so they basically send you a text and call which is automated to come in 180 Livingston for preemployment. You have to show 3 forms of id. You’ll fill out a packet with job history and other things and submit your documents ie. proof of vaccine, high school diploma, birth certificate & social. Everything has to be the original . Then you’ll be waiting to do your drug test. Once you finish your drug test you’re done for the day. Then when they’re up to your number to put you on the next class for whichever title, you’ll receive an email conditional offer with a date to go back in. When you go in the second time you Do another packet which has to match exactly what you put on the first packet(jobs have to match with no gaps) the email will tell you to bring a blank money order of a certain amount for fingerprints and you’ll get sworn in. then you’re just waiting for your first day
  4. @Alucard i was hired for a different position with mta. I’m going to do the exam for metro north in a few weeks. I will update you with the process if I pass.
  5. No it came to my general email. @2ride I applied externally. I was just recently hired with mta New York City transit on. 3/28/22 through a civil service test I took in 2016. Idk if that had anything to do with it. I definitely applied prior to being an employee directly on the mta website.
  6. Received an email to take an exam to for Metro north ticket seller. Does anybody have information on this position. Is anybody currently in this role that can tell me what their current job duties are
  7. Does anyone know what will happen to the station agents if they’re hired and then they get rid of the position in future being that metro cards will be obsolete. Will they terminate them or lay them off? Will they get to keep their jobs and have to switch positions. I’m in the process and would like insight for long term purposes.
