4105 FP to GH.
1007 OH to OF.
Damn, a D60HF @ MCH ... wonder if it'll be in service, or just for maintenance.

Where would ECH's 99's go? Back to NYCT? Those would be better for LGA to get than 94/95's.

^^^^ End of an Era! well sorta of..... Only PBL specifics left are the 6 ex-NYBS 2002 D45's

Why does SC keep bouncing back and forth from being BK depot to QNS... All of its routes are BK based, the Depot is in BK... Yet its Qns again? Reminds me of the old MCH, Depot is in Manhattan, Routes are all Manhattan, yet it was a BX depot.

For a BK to LGA purposes I'd much rather restore the back to QB Full-time, send some s or s to 179th during the rush if 71st would be too overwhelmed.... Much more efficient and faster travel for any would be BK-LGA patrons to Q70 over any direct 'prone to delays' bus route would be.

So Nice seeing RTSes back on 5/Mad AVs

Ummm. It benefits the Q34 ridership north of Flushing because service would far more reliable by not having your bus, which you only need to get you to the , having to come/go all the way to from Jamaica where its really not needed. I don't see Kissena Parsons getting upset over this as long as Q25s are there to replace the gaps....that all Q34s are between Jamaica and Flushing, additional Q25 Locals.
Not to mention it balances out the Q25 north of Flushing as well not having the 15 min gaps between services where the Q34 fits in, then 2 Q25s showing up together...

Advocating for service cuts is not exactly something we should be doing (particularly in a situation of economic recovery), particularly when this cut doesn't really benefit anybody and only hurts those along the Q34. The Q14 had much worse headways than the Q34 so service would be decreased along a new Q14/34, and on top of that the Q34 runs would not likely all be converted to Q25s, so Kissena and Parsons would receive less service at well. Who does this actually end up working out for?
You keep the Q34's headways incorporate that into the Q14...it's not that hard. Not to mention the Q34 north of Flushing might have more service than it actually needs.
I have seen totally empty Q34's on Kissena because a gang of Q17/25's were a mere seconds ahead of it .... Again who would the loss of the Q34 south of Flushing really be affecting... NO ONE!
You reschedule the Q25 Locals to replace the Q34... Q25 Local and LTD don't need to depart Jamaica and Flushing at the exact same time as they do now. I have actually been in a situation where the Q25 Local and LTD both left Jamaica at the same time as each other again got to Flushing with each other. No time was saved by being on the LTD.
If the Q65 local/ltd can handle 164 St just fine alone, I'm sure Q17/25 local/LTD is more than enough for Kissena/Parsons.

Once upon a time, it was probably the case that the Q25 didn't need all the service that Kissena/Parsons warranted. Bus routes can stay the same for very long periods of time.
Parsons/Kissena routes are so unique in the fact that in both direction end or pass through Queens busiest Central Business Districts. At one point I was trying to calculate where the Rush Hour flows changes course along the line (to/from Jamaica to/from Flushing). Naturally one would think the change over would be at the HHE but think it may be somewhat closer to Jewel.
Anyway the Q25/Q25LTD along with the Q17/17LTD could totally handle Kissena / Parsons alone.... Q25's can be spread out more to have an even balance with the LTD.. No one will notice the loss of the 34 South of Flushing.

I agree... I never understood the point of the Q34.... Always thought it was totally useless between Jamaica and Flushing unless somehow they reworked it to where all Q25 ran LTD during the Q34s operating hours.... But I always thought Q34 could be totally scrapped replaced by Q25 between Jamaica/Flushing and bring back the Q14 run it via the Q34 from Flushing to Willets Point Blvd then via its old route/now Q15A to Beechurst..
It would need to be the Q14 again because keeping it Q15A would be too confusing having different terminals in Flushing for what essentially is supposed to be the same route with different branches.

They stand for the old " One Hundred" St Depot which is now TU but they still use "OH".... Just like MCH still uses "OF" for its predecessor title as "145th Street Depot"

The 32/33 split is because they serve different markets (feeder vs Manhattan service), and because a single combined route would probably have reliability go down the drain.
The Q48 and Q50 would be complicated to combine due to the turn restrictions at Main and Roosevelt, and using local streets in Flushing to run a through route would be slower than just having two straight routes. (A Flushing route that arrives from the north but doesn't stop anywhere near Main/Roosevelt is essentially useless.)
I would agree when the 33 used to go to LGA...but now the terminals for the 2 routes a less than a mile away from each other, an't be that big a difference, other than that they're the exact same route pretty much...No-One rides the Q32 between Northern and 74th into Manhattan...They use it to get to Subway because it just happens to come before the Q33, people riding the Q32 into Manhattan don't start to board until around Woodside....
.
How hard would it be really for the Q50/48 to make a right turn from Main on Roosevelt, the 17/27 used to have to make that left which is much hard than to make a simple right...... BX-bound wouldn't be an issue at all uses all the same stops that are in place now. Plus Q50/48 combo puts people closer to the than the 50 does now....Not that it's that big of a walk, but still it's closer...I would keep the LTD of the Q50, but keep the 48's headways.EDIT: I take back my 48/50 combo suggestion, as I just noticed that LGA routes must run in a loop...the Q50 would be too long of a route to only have 1 terminal at the BX end.

Haven't seen this one posted in the ~350 pages of back and forth. If the MTA should ever get around to merging MTAB into NYCT... How about a Q48/50 combo.... giving us a BX-LGA one-seater.
Also Q32/33 I really don't see the point of these being separate routes outside of MTAB/NYCT.

Those have been at SC for a very long time now. The other 3 have been tossed around as of late.
6773 and 6780 running out of Quill today.
Here's a good one: 1289 to TU from 126th. Not sure how permanent, I'm gonna check by the depot next time I pass by.
7424, 7426, and 7428 at SC.
Hasn't the EX-NYBS MCI's found their way to every MTAB depot except maybe LGA? They were even on SI for very short time a few years back weren't they?

LGA has close to 100 18 year old RTS's. Honestly I believe CP should have kept the Q19 and gain the Q49. Give back the QM10/QM11 and QM12. Some say it doesn't make sense to have diesel buses running at a big CNG depot but hey they were running RTS's and Orion v CNG's from 1998-2006. I think anything should be done to help LGA out.
Only thing that will help LGA out Is full merger of NYCT and MTAB, so that Depots can balance out their assignments and streamline deadheads...MTA would probably even be able to close down some depots and move personnel and equipment elsewhere for better efficiency
Seriously a lot of MTAB route placements at depots make no sense, how much money is wasted with these ungodly deadheads.

Which depots still have White faced OGs, besides BP, CS, and LGA?
0 -
Does BP still have any Blackbacks? Or are all their OGs whitebacks now? I know JFK and FR still have a ton... and LGA has 3-4 blackback OGs

I agree no 114 is needed....What's needed is Q113 needs to be ALL LTD between Jamaica and 147th....on the 147 "Local" branch I would keep it LTD until Brookville Blvd, where it has common routing with the Q111 will serve as the lone local.

I always felt like the Q7 should've been extended to BJ....It just feels more complete going to BJ.

I heard in the winter the Q43 might also go to CP
Has to be joking....Q43 is NYCT one, and two coming from CP is a serious Deadhead.. If it was to go to any MTAB depot BP would make more sense.
LGA's problem is one reason why NYCT/MTAB merger needs to hurry the hell up... Routes need to be reassigned to Balance out the loads the depots carry. You have on one end depots like LGA, CS, GH, CP carrying an Overload of Routes, then on the other you have SC, EC, BP, FR, that have capacity to handle more or either be consolidated.

why is JFK's amount of RTS dropping down? im seeing 29 so whats happening, is some going to LGA?
The arrival of the Artics, possibly? sending their RTSs to LGA to knock off Bees. I think they're going to lose some OGs to BP to knock of the rest of those Bees as well.
0 -
Yeah.... but when them artics come though.....
Think you still have a while before BP gets Artics, they'll be 100% OG for a considerable amount of time before the Artics start to roll in.

I pretty much see some more of LGAs OGs (3600s) going to BP in return for BPs RTSs. I don't think BP is keeping any RTSs if they do its temporary.
Thought JFK would've just sent BP OG's and sent RTSs straight to LGA to knock off the remaining Bees, as the Artics start to roll in, in mass @ JFK...Seems like the MTA is taking the long way around to polish off the last of the Bees.
No sense in sending BP RTSs if the goal is to just make them 100% OGs in the end.

hmmmm, time for another game of what will come first....
Which will be the first to bite the dust completely:
- The Bees
- O5 CNGs

So this will rid JFK and LGA of ALL RTSs ... Is my guess .... As well probably push OG/NGs to ECH to push the 99's back to NYCT and rid them of the few remaining V's... Does ECH even really need those V's or they just there as backups to the RTSs?
